Leave a CommentI used to get calls from all kinds of telemarketing idiots. I tried all the do not call lists, but they didn't work. (I'm convinced that's just a scam anyway - a way for them to get your number to begin with. But, I'll leave that conversation for another day.) I'm posting because I have a 2-step process that has pretty much stopped the madness on my phone. I can't guarantee it will work for you, but I thought I'd share anyway:STEP ONE: Block those b***hes! I use Comcast Voice service at home, and they have a web page for managing your voice service - most phone service providers have this now. If you don't know if yours does, just call them and ask. On the Comcast Voice customer website is a "reject or screen calls from this number" option. I just put these F***ers on my screened calls list and they get ****ed out. There's a caveat: unfortunately you can only screen up to 12 numbers this way. So...STEP TWO: Block those b***hes A***N!! I have also been lucky enough to get a Google voice number. It's still invitation only. Students can get them fairly quickly. Others have to wait a bit, but it's coming. This is FREE and it's THE ANSWER. Go sign up RIGHT NOW and get on the waiting list! So, anyway, to finish what I was saying before my ADD interrupted, I use the Comcast forward feature (on the same website) to forward the other ****** telemarketers' numbers to my Google Voice number and use its block feature to block them there. <-- its block feature is limitless. It blocks by contact name, not by number. Every time I get a new number calling me, I just add that number to my Comcast forward list and to my Google Voice SPAM Callers contact and it gets blocked. A 2-step process to stop the madness. DISCLAIMER: These telemarketers have lots of different numbers from which to place their calls, but because the Google Voice blocker gives them the disconnected recording and tones, I think they drop your number after a few unsuccessful tries - would like for someone to verify that for me. It's just a theory, because eventually, they do stop calling from those numbers. Try it. You'll see.
How did get they get our numbers?
I have been getting the same from this company....i am in NC.I just filled a report with the police dep. for harassing calls.
they call 3 or four time at night. don't want them to call
I've been getting a call from this number every half hour for the past twelve hours. I spoke to three different representative and asked them all to take me off the call list. All three times, I was immediately ***g up on. I finally called the number back and received recorded message saying that in order to be removed from the call list I should press '1'. I just did this about 5 minutes ago. If this doesn't work, my next step will be to somehow track down their mailing address and send them some notarized, certified correspondence.
this number has called my cell 5 times in the past hour and half... glad i didn't answer
Received several calls on my cell phone from this Telemarketer.
Received a telemarketing call from the above number with a robo-message about getting out of debt and paying off credit cards. proceeded to select "tell me more" in order to obtain information on the company behind the illegal solicitation. (it is illegal under current federal law to make telemarketing calls to cell phones). When i was eventually put through to a human, i asked what the name of the company is. The woman informed me that it is "Global Financial Group". I then asked where the company was based and the woman disconnected the call. Searched online for Global Financial Group and saw multiple allegations of fraud a***nst the company for a variety of scams. Beware.
No message. Called back only to get a busy signal.Fishy-fishy-fishy...
