I received a call on my old phone, which I no longer use but still has an active number. The call came in at 6:30 PM on a Wednesday, and the incoming number was flagged as 'Scam Likely.' Since I rarely use this phone, I was surprised to see the call come through. This raises concerns about how scammers obtain and target inactive numbers, as well as the potential risks of keeping unused lines open.

Deros Law...some type of collection agency, I****ume, has been hounding me re: an alleged credit card debt. that my mother may have had over 5 years agao. I asked them to provide proof of the old account in writing and I'd try to verify it. I could not verify that the account they claimed to rep.collection of ever existed. I sent a letter to them explaining this and asked them not to call or write a***n. They have persisted in calling still at 10 or more times.

Amy The caller says it is regarding an "important legal matter" and has even said that it was in reference to a family emergency.  None of this is true.  They have continued to call my family and friends, though I have no idea how they have aquired any of these phone numbers!  The caller is pushy and tries to get additional information that no one in their right mind would give out to a stranger over the phone.
