N/A contact made by bogus employer — then the conversation moves to whats app. fake check is sent and you are told to deposit, pay for equipment from their vendor. the check does not have a real routing number. no company information on it.

Anonymous Person contacted me regarding some transaction claimed to be in the military, but clearly the discussion revealed was not.

Individual sends a text addressing you by your first name which conveys a note of familiarity. Individual claims to be our parish priest wanting a favor asking us to buy iTunes gift cards for a group of women battling cancer whose founder he has a relationship with. He claims that the cards are for the women to download their favorite songs and videos while await the next phase of treatment. He claims to be extremely busy and unable to do it himself. Asked us to go to any store near by and purchase them as quickly as possible preferably now. He signs off with our parish priest’s name.
