Scammed on buying a puppy

I received an unsolicited text from this number, saying, "How are you?" to which I responded, "Who are you?"

Some guy texted me claiming his name is “Marv” regarding a home I used to live in. “Hello I saw you might own a property at *address is hidden* , just wanting to see if you would consider getting an offer.” Claims he is an investor but seems very strange that he had my old address even though I wasn’t an owner of the home. Then asked if I know the owners

this appears to be some phony number that wants to answer their calls or texts to somehow swindle you- block number
