Your right they dont call, its illegal for an officer to call you. If you think about it 20% to the charity isnt bad considering all they do is sit back and get 20% of whatever is collected and have to do nothing. None of you guys ever consider how much administrative costs there are.

It's that time of the year people, with the holidays soon to be here, the calls are going to be more frequent and certainly annoying.  Also, many calls concerning the upcoming elections and surveys, etc.  I remember this number from last year.  If you call your local police or fire department, they wil tell you that no local departments solicate people for donations on the phone.  I had contacted the Illinois State Police awhile back, concerning a call I got from someone claiming to represent the ISP.  He emailed me back stating that they do not do this sort of campaigning for money.  So, don't be fooled.  This is a contractor hired to make calls to get you to part with your money, so that they can pocket 80% of it, and only give 20% to the actual charity.

Second time in a week. I understand its a cell phone in Arlington Heights. I just **** up when I see the number appear.

Picked up, automated voice stated "please hold for the next available representative", patch through and heard a bunch of people talking and laughing in the background...***g up...

I tried calling this number back and got no response. The phone jsust kept ringing & ringing with no answered just seconds after they called my house phone.

Asked for me by name and said she was from the Wishing Well. Had I been thinking I would've said ,Well, I wish you would not call me! Appears to be a solicitation for a charity.

When I answered all I got was people talking in the back ground.

February 17, 2009 approx. time: 7:03 p.m. This number is identified as an "Illinois Call". Upon answering the telephone, the caller says nothing. After inquiring who is calling, no response. After about two (2) minutes, an recorded message advises "if you wish to place a call, **** up and dial a***n." When calling the cell phone number, a busy signal results. When calling the cell phone number a second time, it rangs numerous times without an interception. Research using a reverse cell phone number search reveals the cell phone is in Arlington Heights, IL. This is not the first time someone called my residence from this cell phone number.

ma****e generated call on Sunday morning. when i picked up, a recorded voice said, "thank yo, please wait while I transfer you to an agent." then the call was dropped.

They asked for me by name and then ***g up the phone.

No message left

Also received computer generated message to wait for a representative. I immediately ***g up and don't know what the call was about.

When the phone is answered it tells you to hold.

It comes up Illinois Call at all times of day.

I tried to answer the phone, bue there was no one there. This call from 224 425 5200 was received on Sunday evening, when it is illegal to do solicitation calls.

CAll arrived at 8:19 AM. I thought tele marketers couldn't s**** till 9 AM.

Somebody call with purpose.

They called and said that they are collecting money for "The Disabled and Retired Firefighters of Illinois". When I asked them if the charity is registered with the Illinois Attorney General, they stated that they were. When I asked them to send me info on the charity, they asked that I pledge some money first because "stamps are expensive". When I said that I would donate only if they are an established legitimate charity organization, they said "good luck to you" and ***g up.

I love caller ID. I won't answer if I don't recognize the phone number or person calling. I decided to google the phone number to see who it was. Sounds like alot of people are annoyed by w***ver this is. I wonder what kind of scam they are running.

just received a call on my home phone-wasn't aware of the number so I called it back from one of my cell phones I never use.  First the line was busy then no one answered

Just received a call from this number.  Automated female voice stated "please wait for the next available operator".  One minute later the line was disconnected. Typical solicitor ********.

Just got call, man asked for me by name, asked who was calling, he said Lee.  I said Lee who, don't know any Lee.  He kept saying my name, telling me it was Lee Robbins.  Then told me he was from correctional services, asking for money to keep kids safe.  Told him, I wouldn't commit, just send info.  He kept pressuring me, told him forget it. Don't know how they got my name and phone #.  Knew my first and last name.  Our phone isn't in my name!  Has to be some kind of scam.

I got a call and a woman asked for my Husband by name but when I asked who was calling there was silence.  I kept saying "hello" and then ***g up.

My daughter just answered the phone as I was on my other lines for business.  He asked for me by name.  I told her to ake a message and he said that he would call back and ***g up very quickly.Quote rude I thought, so I googled the number.

7-21-08   called at 7:28 pm, thought i was my mom (im 19, ***?) and then they asked for her, calling her by her name, i told him she wasn't there, then he asked for my dad, i told him he wasn't there.  he said he would call back.  I can't wait till he does :)

Some guy called saying he was from the police dept. He knew my husbands name and asked for him. By the time my husband got to the phone he was gone. It scared the **** out of me because I had just been talking to my daughter on the phone in her car and she suddenly said "oh ****, I have to go. It scared me to *****-but she's OK. Stop this SOB!

A man called and asked for my ***her by first name. I asked them who this was. The man said that his name was Brian and would not state the purpose of the call. He abruptly ***g up. Really??? Do they think anyone is going to buy so****ing from them? Get a rel job.

I received a call from this number this afternoon, but they didn't leave a message. I dialed it twice--the first time it was busy, the second time it rang ten times without an answering ma****e or anyone answering the phone. Perhaps yet another telemarketer or charity?

Phone rang at 8:20PM - caller ID gave this # & also "Illinois Call". My husband answered it after the 3rd ring, but no one replied.

Was not home to answer this **** call!!!!!!!!

I just got a call from this number.  Said his name was Andy and he was calling on behalf of the Correctional Officers.  I interrupted and told him they had called here several weeks ago and I had told them to take me off their list, because we no longer accept these type of telephone solitications.  He tried to cut me off and tell me I had given money to this organization in the past (I never have).  I interrupted him a***n and repeated myself.  He didn't listen, just said, "Fine, bye" in a really snotty voice.  No way these people are legimitate.

JUNE 8TH 2008.I REC'D CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER RECENTLY.  I ANSWERED TWICE, BOTH TIMS, A RECORDING SAID:  THANK YOU, PLEASE HOLD TIL THE NEXT REPRESENTIVE IS AVAILABLE.

I just got a call from that number. The **** asked for me by name and when I asked who was calling, he said "chris".. I said chris who??  He said Chris Willis. I said I didnt know any chris willis, and then he ***g up?? *** is going on. Aren't our phone numbers personal anymore??

I got the same number calling me. On my caller ID is says Illinois Call. So I figured I would answer it. Cause usually people I know have either Illinois Call or their name pop up. I thought it was the Pantagraph calling me about a contest I may have won. It had me on hold for like 5 minutes and then it ***g up.
