Josuah got calls
What do they want from me?
Came home from work and heard a message from someone claiming to be Investigator Laura or Lauren Jones saying my husband was being named as a respondent in an affidavit in a civil and criminal allegation and that he must appear in court; she gave an affidavit number. My husband has recently suffered a concussion and did not even know the call had come because he was in bed asleep. We have had false accusations put a***nst us by his ex-wife so I naturally thought this was so****ing she had done. ****** me called them back and left a message -- thank goodness I didn't give them any information, just told them I had received the message and was returning the call for my husband. But they now have my name and that I was calling for my husband and why. THEN I decided to look up the phone number on the Internet and found what others are saying about someone from this number calling them as well. Should have had the smarts to look up the number first. I hope and pray my ******ity doesn't cause us trouble. I am with all others: DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY INFORMATION WHATSOEVER!
this caller didn't even call MY house!!!! she called my ex-husband of 12 years. i have never lived in the house he's living in now. if this was legit....i think they would know that. when i called the number is was the desk of loura james wanting me to leave a call back number. i'm pretty sure this is a scam.
Left a message saying that they are calling about a civil claim a***nst me and want me or my attorney to call them back at 704.235.4129. The Caller I.D.# is 240.235.4110. He gives a case number of FCB3532. He was very threatening, saying that if I did not contact them this could result in a 'Default Judgement' to be filed a***nst me. Shortly after receiving this message, I got a call from my X-mother-in-law saying that they had contacted her regarding this matter. They told her that I had given her name as an emergency contact. She has not been my mother-in-law for over 15 years. So the information they have obtained on me is pretty old.
I received a call saying my ex-wife was involved in a Civil Suite and was to contact the office of Civil Investigator Sheila Willks or(Brooks) {no muni****lity was named)and gave a case number. She was to contact immediately. Well I didn't understand the message at first and I thought she was suing me so I contacted my attorney the next morning. He said That this was highly irregular and very su****ious but call back and give them his number. The area code I did not recognize so I looked it up and here I am. I have called there 240-235-0635 but that's not the number on the caller ID that was 240-235-4192 I called them both and they are disconnected. Get a real job!
Was called by this number, returned to be told i would be summoned to court over a possible 18 yr old debt, they refused to send any type of verification, do yourself a favor dont return this phone call.
Said that i was being sued, i failed to appear in court, and said his name was lonnie freeman. and called him back he wouldnt give any info about what this matter. but theaten to have me arrested and was sending someone to pick me up when i didnt call back.
A woman named Jeanine Michaels called my X husband to tell him to tell me to call them or have my attorney call them within 24 hrs. This was Sept 12 2008 (Friday) at 6:00pm. She had a case number. I called her and could not understand what she said when she answered the phone. She refused to identify herself or the company. I told her I was not going to giver her any info until I knew who I was talking to. She said I could wait for the Summons and could take 5 minutes go lose a nut and call her back.
A lady called my mom tonight at 6:30 pm saying that a civil suit was being filed a***nst her. The lady said to call 240-696-1715 use this special case #TRF2566. She had no information about what this call was about except that my mom was being sued by someone ant that she had better call this number right away or she was going to be arrested. My mom is 83 years old and owes no one money. This is just a scam to scare elderly people and get all their personal information so they can rob them and steal their iden***ies. This will not happen at our house these people are crooks. The call came in from 240-235-4192 caller unknown. She said she worked for Final call and would not give her name
Call left on answering ma****e from a Jack DuPree (?) on Fri Aug 29th. Calling a Richard ??????? (not me or anyone I know) and said that he was Jack DuPree (sp?), a civil claims investigator and the Richard was named as a party in claim number HBR17??. The claim was throughly investigated and that [Richard] needed to call him at 240-235-5615 before 48 hrs or the claim would be filed in ??? County Court and a warrant would be issued for [Richard's] arrest. Now this message was left on Fri morning of the Labor Day weekend, so there was no way that it could be answered and/or filed within 48 hrs.
Same as the posts above. When I called back to be sure my number was taken off of their call lists, I got a rude lady who would not even identify the company of the location so I could report them to the local BBB in their area. A special investigater was going to have the sheriff come to my house and serve papers on me even though I was not the one they were looking for.
This is a group of people currently taking advantage of people across the United States. They go by a variety of names and phone numbers -- some of the names they use include Global****et Investigations, Worldwide Recovery Services, Worldwide****et Investigation Services and North American****et Investigation Bureau (NAAIB). Last year they were operating out of Cleveland, OH, until they were shut down -- the Cleveland BBB named them as one of the top ten scams of 2007 (http://cleveland.bbb.org/WWWRoot/SitePage.asp ... 19642b&art=4334).You can get more info here: http://www.budhibbs.com/debtcollectorpages/NAAIB.htm.They will probably continue using this MD number until they get shut down a***n, then s**** using a new area code, but the MO is always the same: they call and identify themselves in a way that implies they are either working for a lawyer, the court system, or the police department (all of these misleading statements are illegal); tell you that there has been a civil case filed a***nst you, they give you a case number, and tell you that you must contact them before a warrant is sworn out a***nst you. When you contact them, they tell you that they are investigating a debt that is 10, 12, 15 or so years old; they'll name some bank you've never heard of, or a credit card you've never heard of. They'll have just enough information about you to make you nervous and they'll be phishing to find out more information. They'll tell you that the debt is some ridiculous amount -- let's say $10,200 for an example -- but if you're willing to pay today, they'll reduce it to, for example, $650. But they can't give you an address. Instead, they will ask for your bank account or credit card number. They'll tell you that if you don't settle on the phone with them that moment, a sheriff will appear at your door within 48 hours to arrest you. NONE OF THIS IS TRUE. Complaints have been filed to the AG of OH, MD, TX, NY, and IL, as well as to the FTC, FCC, and the FBI (as they are trying to illegally extort money over the phone). They often target the elderly and infirm. Do not speak with them, and save whatever messages they leave on your phone. If you get a phone call, file a complaint online with the following organizations:http://www.oag.state.md.us/Consumer/complaint.htmhttps://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=enhttp://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htmas well as the Attorney General of your own state. Remember: whether the debt is yours or not, you should not be dealing with these people. They are not a legitimate organization.PLEASE -- file a report. You were smart and savvy enough to do research on this number; not everyone is that lucky. REPORT THEM!!!
this is the number that a SPECIAL INVESTIGATOR wanted me to return her call to ..but the number is not in service how funny ...so i looked it up and here i am but the number on my caller id was different. it was 1-240-235-4192 and it is on the list on this web site. and the voice mail was a female who says her name is jeanine michaels and the other person in the office is sandra watson
