This guy keeps calling me during the day on my cell asking for "Richard". I spoke to him saying no Richard at this #. But keeps calling!

Slimeball debt collectors called looking for someone who does not live here

I keep getting phone calls from that number.

Appears as a missed call on my phone at work.

It's a collection agency. I called them back and they were looking for someone named Olga and dialed the wrong number....Pay your bills Olga....

This number belongs to a collections firm called ARO Canada.  Their website is www.aro.ca.  Most likely calling about an unpaid ticket.

Received a message from a lady with an forgien accent, somewhat East Indian sounding asking for some person with a strong East Indianish name.  She stated that it was important to return the call 1-866-667-3307 Ext3119 and also provided a reference number 883158.  I have no idea who this person or what this number is and I will not way shape or form call this number back.Like I am going to call back and be billed for calling Europe while they keep me on hold.  Than what?  The telephone company will say..... they have no idea of the call and still bill me!  This is most likely a scam.  Say away from these type of calls.

Got a call today for the first time. Did not answer as I'm not in the habit of answering numbers I don't recognize and am glad to have seen this website. Didn't leave a message as I don't have voicemail (luckily).

Recieved a call from this 1-289-789-1107. They didn't leave a message.  And just wondering who was behind this number and what they wanted.

I just got a call from a lady at Aro. She said she was calling on behalf of the attorney general and would not release information without knowing some information about me.  I followed along until she told me I had to pay 500 dollars for a fine in 2003.  I told her I needed more information because I dont remember having a fine in 2003 she then asked me if I was going to pay this right away and she asked me a few times but I told her I needed more information again she got a little annoyed and said she didn not have the information I needed.  If you are coming after me for 500 dollars and you are with the government you better have the paper work in front of you with what I owe and why. I am pretty sure this is a scam do not trust the Aro company.

(Unionville, Ontario) 289-789-1001 & 866-519-1114 ext. 3043  caller "DominicFor the past year I have been receiving telephone calls from the telephone numbers noted above.  Since I am not into the practice of answering calls from unknown numbers, I suspected it was telemarketers.  These telephone calls happened at times on a daily basis at all hours and for weeks, then a couple of times a week but persisted for well over a year. The person calling identified himself as Dominic from ARO Inc. and would leave rude and intimidating nasty messages such as "you need to call us immediately to address unresolved business",   Dominic would even quote a file number. On one occasion I answered the telephone and Dominic said he needed to speak to Giddy Kirilow.  I explained to him I have lived at my residence for eight years and there has never been such an individual living at my residence. I then requested that he stop calling and leaving rude and demanding messages on my answering machine. He then said he would note this in his computer, but he then replied his computer froze and abruptly hung up.On a recent occasion he spoke to my spouse who I had warned about this telemarketer, and he demanded to speak to Giddy Kirilow.  My spouse gave the same response I noted above she requested that Dominic and ARO Inc. quit calling our residence and leaving harassing messages.It should be noted that on any of the telephone calls received from Dominic at ARO Inc., he never gave his title or position with the said company.Lastly on September 22, 2010, Dominic called again and my wife answered the telephone and passed it to me at my request to address this obnoxious, rude, arrogant scam artist.  I asked Dominic why he was harassing me with these calls, when I have previously informed him Giddy Kirilow never lived at my residence and that my wife and I never heard of this person.  Dominic then asked for my name and I replied its really none of your business.  I then asked him for his full name and title with this company, and for his supervisor's name, because I wanted these harassing telephone call to stop.  He then responded what is all the secrecy about giving out my name, and I said I am not in the practice of giving my name out to strangers or persons unknown to me or my wife.  I then asked him what the unresolved business was in regards to his messages on my answering machine pertaining to Giddy Kirilow, and he abruptly hung up.  Please note that in a prior conversation with my wife, he informed her that he spoke with Giddy Kirilow at my telephone number which was an out and out lie.I hope  that this message will give some insight to anyone who receives telephone calls or messages on their answering machine from the scam artist know as Dominic from ARO Inc. out of Unionville, Ontario.  If you do get a call set this person back on the heels right away and do not be intimidated.Also do not waste your time trying to trace either of the telephone numbers because the only thing you will discover is that the telephone numbers are from Unionville, Ontario, and that it is a landline with the subscriber being Telus. For more information on the telephone number and ARO Inc. just put either of the telephone number in your search engine such as Yahoo or Google and hit the enter key and you will find several other complaints and interesting information which confirm you are dealing with Scam Artists who have nothing better to do than harass people for no good reason.  They will tell you false information such as being debt collectors.

Yeah I get a prick named Paul R. This useless goofball harasses my partners cellular trying to reach ne stating it's an 'important message'. Hey, Paul, and ARO, try to understand the law of harrassment.

Collection Agency - the one that collects Student Loans

They called this morning from this number saying they needed to confirm some info  before they'd tell me who they were.  Asked if I ever lived at a certain address. Then they wanted the last 3 digits of my SIN number. I told them it's none of there buisness. They had no right asking me that. They hung up on me.That was fine by me. I used reverse look up it told me who the service provider was in Unionville Ontario.

This morning, I got a call from this number from a lady who had my name misspelled wanting to confirm my home address, claiming she's calling on behalf of the CIBC who I have never banked with. She was persistent and I repeated said "NO".  There was no reason given for the call and like everyone else, she mentioned she was from ARRO.

THIS # KEPT CALLING MY COMPANY AND INTERUPTING MY CLIENTS, THERE'S NO ONE THAT WORK HERE BUT ME. THIS MY OWN BUSINESS. SO PLEASE STOP CALLING. I WILL REPORT YOU THE CRTC AND THE POLICE.

I received this phone number, and asking for a person i dont even heard before. And I told him that he got the wrong number, but he kept on asking me, how long i have my cell phone no. and my name.it was so stupid if i told him. at last he hung up the phone.

My wife just received a call from this number asking for me by my correct name. When i came on the phone and said hello at least 3 times, then the man hangs up. What's his problem ??? sick i think

Same story... these people have been calling non-stop and not leaving messages except for one that was inaudible.  I returned the call to see what it was regarding and the first time I was hung up on and then the 2nd time I was told if it was important they would call me back.  This is definitely some sort of scam and this business is far from professional.

These people called me at 7 in the morning, for someone that doesn't live here anymore. The guy moved years ago I guess cause i get his mail also. ARO Collection agency.. in their website they say the are professional... not when they hang up on my brothers face after telling them that he wasnt me, then they called my wifes cell phone #, and called me 5 times on my home phone... this is illegal, and is considered harrassment. The main headquarters is from Montreal (Quebec should have nothing to do with Ontario Laws), and the company (289 number) is from markham, Ontario.ARO.ca is their website.

Got a call from this number not long ago.  Said they wanted my home address.  How stupid do they think I am????  How do I know it's not a scam or someone wanting to come break into my home.I don't have any unpaid bills.  Well, OK, I might be a day or two late on my phone bill, but that's it.

Just got a call from this number this morning... i wasn't home so the caller left a msg. He said he's from ARO (???) and needs "immediate response" by 11 this morning.... Honestly have no idea what he was referring to, so just gonna ignore it =P

Thanks for the info !!These ppl have been scaring the crap out of me for ages...looked up the number many times...found nothing... tried calling "government services of Ontario" since one guy said that's where he was calling from but they had no clue what i was being called for...and even asked assistance for info and could not get any on where their number was calling me from...til i saw this post.  every time they call they just start demanding all my personal information and threaten me when i refuse to do so without them telling me who they are and why they are calling...the forcefulness of their calls and demands for such info still has me worried they're scammers trying to confirm info to steal my id or something.  feel like im being stalked!  what this so called collection agency may want with my info i have no clue...but i guess since (if) it is a collection agency i will have no choice but to endure their terrorizing tactics and total disregard for ppl who dont want their id's stolen...since call block don't seem to be working on my line or this number is not able to be blocked and i dont even have caller id.
