Leave a CommentSomeone with a heavy Indian accent called and said he was from MS Windows and that I had a computer virus. He asked if I was in front of my computer and he wanted me to enter some commands. I asked him what company he was from and to give me a number to call him back on. He was very pushy and a***n insisted that I log into my computer so that he could remove the virus. I told him that if he did not give me a number to call him back on I would report him to the FCC. He gave me a 888-514-0866. When i called the number ingot a different person with a heavy Indian accent and they told me that they make random calls to people to get them to establish a service contract with them for their computes. They are very pushy and when I told them that I did not want them to call a***n the said that they would not.
Have received numerous calls in the past two weeks from this number. Do not listen to entire message since I received the first call and the person with a real thick Asian Indian accent said they were calling from Microsoft and wanted access to my computer. I just s****ed ****ing up, then looked at my phone and found I have a "reject call" ****on. Works quite well. How do they know if I even have a computer, or maybe I'm in a nursing home. Have not listened to end of message to tell them not to call a***n.

My caller id showed this as a company named Pro Hydralics. There are a few companies with that name but I expect the scammers have just appropriated the name. Don't even bother answering these calls or, if you feel like having fun, do what I do -- He...he...he...hello. Mmmmm....Mmmmm....M..my name is Ti...Ti...Ti...Timmy. Wha....Wha...Wha...What's your...your...yours? If they haven't ***g up by then, I usually get an apology.
Want to Waste Their time? I received the same message as Frieda. If you want to waste their time and have a little fun, play along. Yes, I realize it is also wasting MY time, but after the 3rd identical call, I was ready for some fun. They ask you to do things to your computer and then ask what you see on the screen. Of course do NOT do any of this, but if you are so inclined, you can prank them into thinking they have you. I've included some screen descriptions you can use to bluff them into thinking you are following their directions. If all else fails, just tell them "I'm not sure what I'm looking at, what is this? or what am I supposed to be seeing? 1) The first thing they will ask is look at the lower left corner of your keyboard. They want you to identify the Microsoft Flag and press that and R. This will open up the Run Window in a small white pop-up window that says Run at the top left and Open at the left side. 2) They will ask you to type INF and check OK They will ask you what you see. If you did actually do this, you will see a "bunch of files" 3) They will explain that these are Infected Files, or so****ing to that effect. (Don't over play it here, In a horified voice, I said Oh My Whatever can we do about this) and, sensing she'd been played, she said I could **** up. Then she ***g up. Just be cool, a good strategy is "I don't know much about all this" and when asked what do you see, "I'm not sure what I'm looking at, can you explain this to me" usually works well. 4) Next they will ask you to enter in the run box IEXPLORE (underscore) and www.INFOSIS.NET [Do NOT do this] ?) At some point, they will ask you to download so****ing, I think it is after the following 5) they will ask what you see, apparently it brings up a screen with 3 options, one of which is TEAM Viewer, then they will ask you to click on RUN 6) This will bring up a screen that has an ID code, they will ask you for it. Apparently it is all numbers 9 numbers in all. Whatever you tell them, write it down because they will be confused that the password you are about to give them doesn't work. I used the number 1722***13 and you are welcome to use that also, it has no meaning that I know of. 7) They will ask for a password, I don't know if it is alpha-numeric or what, but I used RUD2ME1 and they seemed satisfied, at least until it didn't work. 8) That's as far as I was able to go with them without actually doing what they asked and letting them have control of my computer. But you should have heard them, it was hilarious. Sir, I think you are giving me the wrong password. I repeated it. After several tries of the same code and password, the "tech" handed me off to his "supervisor" Sir, I think that you are pulling my leg, you are not giving me the correct password, I NEED the Correct Password, Me - No, that'sthe right password. SIR, I THINK YOU ARE JOKING ME, and went on a little longer until I finally broke and said, Do you think I'm ******, I'm not going to give you guys complete control of my computer so you can . . . SIR if you don't want our services, you can just **** up. ME - what fun would that be? Click. Your mileage may vary. Best wishes.
They have two phone numbers on the caller ID. Trying to "Fix a problem with your computer." Block them if possible.
There is a thief calling from that landline number telling people that they are from Microsoft and need to ***n access to your computer to erase virus'. IT IS A SCAM. DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO ***N ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER.
