Leave a CommentOh yes, the alarm system is free. It's what happens next that's a scam. A company very similar to yours called me offering a "free alarm system" that I "won." Mine is such "high quality" that it's plugged into a wall outlet. I know now that any good system is hardwired into the house, not plugged in! Then the technician presented me with a 3 or 4 page contract in tiny print. He didn't explain any of the terms, nor did he give me time to do more than scan it quickly, because he had "another appointment." So I signed, like a *****, because the guy had been really polite and answered all my questions while he was installing. Only when I went to cancel did I learn that the contract was for 3 years, and that it automatically renewed unless they received written notice months before the renewal, with no cancellation allowed. So don't listen to anyone who calls to offer you a "free" alarm system. They're frauds
I just got a phone from "VMS" and i ***g up. He said "This is VMS, can you hear me okay?" ive been getting these phone calls for weeks. but it was from 1-952-852-6698.
I work for vms I can****ure all of you that it is not a scam we do surveys all the time and then we call the housees that were selected to recive one of our systems we do not tell u that u won a system at all we tell u u were selected for one you get a free alarm system from us with the installation and all u pay is the monitoring of the system which is about a doller a day or 30 bucks a month you people that think this is a scam are absolutley wrong we have tons of employees every day that are out there trying to protect you same people next time u get a call accually listen to the person speakin with u it might save ur life oneday
Same here they call and never leave a message.
Same story from 210-399-2191. Caller ID comes up "San Antonio TX"
Yeah, I just got the call out of the blue. They said I won the alarm system. While I was talking with the guy on the phone, I googled the info and found these postings. When I knew it was a scam and people may have been targeting my house, I told him that I already had an alarm system but just wanted a cheaper monitoring service. He then asked how much I paid? I told him that my wife takes care of all that, even though I am a single man. I finally asked him how he got my information and what company it was, he told me that they had done a survey on "smoke alarms" with my wife that doesn't exist and that's how they came upon my phone number. I told him he needed to call back at a later date. It's a scam for sure.
Like to know who it is
401-490-3493 is somehow connected to a scam that also uses ***-463-3018. They come off as trying to give away a free alarm system. An indian from the *** number calls first, then says a supervisor will call. That's the 401 number. Beware.
I have the same problem, they call every day.
caller calls every night does not say anything but obsessively calls
The above # keeps calling my home and ****ing up.
I have been getting the same ****up calls for the past 3 months. After some web research, found that the Co is VMS Rhode Island who "sell" Monitronic home alarm systems and who by all accounts have a reputation for questionable business and billing practices. After numerous phone calls to this company to remove me from their call list they still continue to call. I have resorted to signing on to the National NO CALL registry to see if that will stop them.
All of the above has happened to me, too.Initial call, about a week ago, asked me to complete a survey on smoke detectors. Then beginning the next day, they've called daily (today they called twice). Each time it is a different operator. When I tell them upfront that we are on the FCC "Do Not Call" list, they **** up (rude). Today I kept the guy on the phone & explained to him that we already have a security system and that our number should be removed from the company's call list. He told me he could only remove me from HIS list (note that I've spoken to a different person during each call I received). I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager - he said there wasn't one available. I told him that he needs to inform someone immediately and that I was reporting the calls to the FCC, which I just did.I recommend everyone out there experiencing calls from "VMS" to file a complaint with the FCC. Here's the link to the website:http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/donotcall/
Caller ID said the call was from "VMS" and I answered it, the first call was to do a survey on smoke detectors. Then they call back telling we have won a home security system with free installation. Lady said I won a free security system. After speaking with her, I got su****ious and tried calling the number back - got a "not in service message." Few think this is a scam to find houses to target for a break in. I have called my local police to discuss what happened and see what can be done to stop this.
They call first from a blocked number pretending to do a survey on smoke detectors. Then they call back telling you you have won a home security system with free installation. You simply pay "about a dollar a day" for monitoring.
Caller ID said the call was from "VMS" and I answered it. Lady said I won a free security system. After speaking with her, I got su****ious and tried calling the number back - got a "not in service message." Other websites think this is a scam to find houses to target for a break in. I have a call in to my local police to discuss what happened and see what can be done.
They keep calling and never say anything when I pick it up. It needs to go away.
Got the same call just now. they asked for me. And only my first name. I said I wasn't here and they ***g up and I got an instant busy sound in my ear
These are absolute low-lifes who should be put in a room with ringing phones turned up to 85 db with no food and water until they die the ***** they deserve. 'nuff said?
This fool keeps calling, never leaves a message, and if I answer the phone, they don't say anything. When I try to call the number back, I get a recording saying that the number is not in service. It's rediculous.
stop calling please.. how can I make it stop
Same thing happened to me. I am so annoyed!!!!
They keep calling, but I keep not picking up. Never leave a message. When I call the number back it says 'all lines are busy, please call back'.
Same thing happened to me. They have called every day for a week!
**** up on answer. Called backed "Lines are temporarily busy". I then blocked my caller ID signal on my cell phone, and the recording said' "this number not in service"...Somebody's up to no good!!!
Asked for me by first name. I told him he's not available. He said its a courtousy call. I replied take me off your call list then he ***g up. This is not the first time.
