Leave a CommentI've received this call a few times and I always let callers I can't identify go to voicemail. The message is: "...press 1 to speak to a 'specialist'[to be releived of your iden***y], or press 9 to have the number removed..." They know that pressing 9 saves messages on many voicemail systems. Not only are they annoying telemarketers; probably thieves, they are messing with you by baiting you to press 9 and save their message. If they are indeed offs**** and s****ing a domestic caller ID, then attorneys' general can do little. Maybe a telco techie can answer if blocking the s****ed ID will block the real caller?
they have phoned me 3 times on my cellular phone which has been registered on the Nat'l Do Not Call. The recording instructs you to push 1 if you want to "reinstate your vehicle warranty". I did this to ask them to remove my name, but they are RUDE. I DID request for my number to be removed so should they call a***n, I will file the appropriate forms. If everyone would simply call the attorney general's office in the state they are operating, I am sure they will stop at some point.
Received a call three times this weekend, once yes****ay, twice today. Called 1-888-382-1222 to put my phone on the 'national no call list'. Talked to AT&T (a friend who works on the inside) - the number is definitely s****ed. Furthermore, it's an international company (he believes) that is calling. Could be our Nigerian buddies (see those scams!) - in any case, eventually they want what every scammer wants, your credit card. Don't go that far, unless ofcourse you could by chance give them George Bush's CC#, which would take care of the problem quickly I would****ume. I had this problem on a vonage phone line once, and If I was in the mood I'd go along and act like I'm 'complying' with their request - giving out false info, listening, asking 'easy' questions, then search for my credit card... it's here someplace, wait a minute... then go get a soda. Come back apologize, repeat process. I kept one idiot on for about 20 minutes or so, then asked them - "How do you like being annoyed?" I was actually cursed out, which made it all worth it! good luck all
Because the number isn't real. It is S****ED to hide who/where they really are.
I got a missed call from this number and when I called it back the operator said that that number has been disconected.
They s**** the number on the caller id but it's all the same ****. Typically, I don't answer calls from numbers i don't know, and I only give my number to people i do know. no big deal, other than it is annoying.

I have gotten these calls on my cell phone, for car warranty extension. When I ask which vehicle, they **** up. They have also called from 213/733-6197, another disconnected number from CA. How do we stop this stuff?
Answered a call on my cell phone, heard the recording about 'your vehicle's manufacturers waranty is about to expire' and I pressed 1 to speak to somebody. The lady who answered asked me to provide my vehicle make and model so she could confirm it. I said I wasn't sure which vehicle she was calling about and asked if she could tell me what they have on file. I was immediately disconnected.
I keep getting a call from these **** factory warranty people on my job and cell phones. I've asked to be removed from their list and in addition to this not happening, the operators are rude and ****s up abruptly. Soooooo annoying.
