Yeah, try to call them back. Either the line is dead or you get a message from the operator saying: "Your call cannot be completed as dialed" or the retro 70's "all circuits are busy" message!

Same problem, dead air after answered. Not suprised it is rogers. Tried call screen. Funny eh, Pay Bell $5/month to screen a call they sold to someone else. They make money both ways.

we've beeen getting these calls for a lang time now. It isnt funny, nor amusing because some people in my house need to sleep during the day, it is a very big nuisance, and when im home alone, it gets really freaky. Inever get a response, just after a few seconds after I pick up the phone, the other side ****s up. I am glad that other people have looked into this problem, and today alone ive gotten three calls. W***ver owns this phone number, please stop the calls!
We called Rogers and they informed us that the reseller that owns this number is IRISTEL - 416.848.9804. We called them and were informed that they have the number belongs to one of their resellers, who by now could have further sold it to another reseller, and so on and so forth.The woman we spoke to at IRISTEL was helpful and said she'd look into getting our number removed if she could (we called after hours). Let's keep our fingers crossed (these calls are SO IRRITATING!!)
They phone my cell a rogers phone, every evening s****ing at 5pm or so 3 or 4 times up to 8 or 9 pm. just dead air when I answer. When I don't they **** up when my voice mail kicks in. Really a nuisance. I'm grateful to all you who have spent the time to research this.
I think I've finally got this resolved... Bell Ca***a told me the number has been****igned to Rogers Telecom, at 1-877-484-5101.Rogers Telecom says one of their resellers owns the number 416-907-0553.I've made a formal request for Rogers Telcome to their reseller to stop calling me, and insisted on them creating a tracking number for the issue.The reseller has 7 days to take care of the matter. Good luck to anyone else who tries this.
I've spoken to Bell about this, and they've acknowledged that I'm not the only person to complain. They DO admit to owning that number, but insist that it's configured for "inbound calls only." Oddly, this doesn't explain why I get dead air whenever I try to call them. The customer rep I spoke to suggests that the caller ID number is a "s****" and, after speaking to my own telephone service provider, I've decided to use the Police Call Trace feature to escalate this. With all the nuisance calls I've received from this number, I figure it's time to stop playing nice.
The number is owned by a fibre optic customer of Rogers communications, the line of which is owned by Bell Canda. I spoke with Bell and they are looking into the error.

Mine was a silent call, then ***g up. Next day, same number and "this is the promotional department of Rogers Cable". I then ***g up.I guess they call the first time to see if you're a 'live' number.
