Leave a CommentSorry - I spelled Stefanie Powers' name wrong. But, you get the idea.
I didn't get the same call, but I read this complaint, and the telemarketer's claimed name sounded familiar. "Steph" Powers is actually just short for Stephanie Powers, and she's an actress. Here's here IMBD page - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0694619/These people don't use their real names. They grab what ever name they find, usually either an "Average Joe" type name, or the name of a celeb that hasn't been in the spotlight recently. More than likely, it's the same credit card scam that's been used by scammers for the past few years. Tell themyou don't have any credit cards, and you'll see how fast they **** up.This won't completely stop them, but if you want to cut down on how many of these calls you get, do this: If you are able to talk to them, be as polite as possible (pretending you don't know what's going on), and say so****ing like "Well, I'm just confused as to why my number is still on your dialer, since I've never had a credit card in my life." --Instant "click". These people are looking for people to scam, and if they don't think you're one of them, they'll move on to someone who does have credit cards (of course, you don't tell them if you ACTUALLY do, or not).A***n, it probably won't stop the calls completely, but it should slow the rate of them. And, yes, you should report the phone number to the FTC, but I'm not sure how much good that will do. The FTC has had more than two years to do so****ing to help people not get these calls, and they haven't seemed to do anything yet. I mean, the "F" stands for Federal, so you know they have everything they need at their disposal to go after these people. But, these people are still calling. Guess that's the government for you.
Its a fax ma****e that calls over and over
