I'm laughing ... I was Googling a diff phone scam. Maybe you will get a laugh out of this. I've been posting this and other info on every site I can find on these ****s. If enough of us get educated at least we can slow them down or not feel totally victimized. I just though of so****ing that might help or at least give some of you some satisfaction. In the Nov. 06 I got a new land line. I immediately registered that number with the *Do Not Call Registry*. Anyone can call you legally until 30 days goes by. I hadn't had the number 3 days and I was inundated with calls from Direct TV people from 5-6 different states. I finally got smart and talked to some kid and said, "YEA! I'm really interested but I needed to talk to my "significant other" (like I have one) as I can't make that decision myself but we have been discussing getting it. Do you have a number where I can reach you? I've been in sales before and I know how it works. This way you get the credit for the sale!" Greedy little ******* bit like a ***gry wolf. I called him right back to make sure the number was legitimate and then spoke to his Supervisor, I was to be taken OFF "any Direct TV call lists across the NATION ... NO EXCUSES!". I also called the young buck back and told him if he ever rang my number a***n he'd be strung up by his *****.Then I contacted AT&T since my number was just issued I wanted to know how long it was since it had last been used. It was only 6 weeks since it had been disconnected from the last recipient. I then proceeded to let AT&T know, "for EVERY SPAM call I receive, since you either *****ed up by issuing a number that hasn't been "dead" long enough OR you are selling my number, I am going to call your 800 number and use up your precious time *****ing to customer support. Also you people do this s**t thinking then I'll be forced to purchase your extra features such as, Call Waiting ID & Privacy ManagerĀ® so I don't have to deal with this....think a***n" I never received another spam call to that number. I've dealt online with Nigerian scammers and found there is an official term called "Scam Baiting". If you have some time and a few fake email addresses you keep the crooks busy and they have less time to steal from others. It really ****es them off and gives me ultimate pleasure when I ****er one up enough to get the info I need to shut down their operation for a little while anyway.I love being a nice honest person, but I absolutely HATE these types of people and tactics. One of my sisters once told me I should s**** a business called. "Let Me Be Your B***h". I would have but couldn't figure out how to charge people to take on (just one example) cell phone companies that routinely overcharge. Who has half an hour + to call and complain each month for being overcharged on average .58 cents to $2.37? Mine was doing exactly that until I called their 800 number 3 months in a row, put them on speaker phone and told them, "I'm going to play on my PC while you fix the problem. Let me know when it's fixed and give me a confirmation number."How does one charge for that?Wish you all the best.
