Leave a CommentI received 2 calls from this number today on my cell. I missed the first one and answered the second one. It was a woman with the same pitch (except it was for my 'master card account ending in ****') I interupted her to ask her the company name which I asked her to repeat several times as I couldn't understand her 'Vista Services'. I began asking her to not call me a***n and she s****ed to get rude and yell - "What? You don't drive?" I said, you to stop calling me and she's like we're not selling you anything, what's wrong, you don't drive? I just ***g up b/c I can't get into a screaming match with some idiot on the phone while I'm at work.
Caller calls to confirm shipment order that I have not placed. They also want to confirm personal information and credit card information. BUYERS BEWARE!
Hey Becky,If you're worried you can get a free credit report to check if any new credit card accs have been opened using your SS#. I just got a call today. Didn't answer it though. Someone I knew thought it was legit. She gave her info and all she got were the memberships and all but no free gas cards. I guess she got off easy.
i got this same exact call and i also don't have a visa card.so i'm guessing someone opened a card in my name...but i don't know where to call or what to do to cancel this supposedvisa card what did you do?
I called them back after maybe 10 calls and an answering ma****e came on. It did offer me to be put off their list but should I do that? I'm afraid to talk to them at all especially since they stated I already made an order for so****ing.
They called me today and said I was going to get 120$ in gas vouchers because I was a perferred visa customer...It was creepy because they had my address and last four digits of my debt card. I told them I was not interested in signing up for anything (though she hadn't asked me to, I was****uming this was a scam) I didn't give her any information but I am still concerned. I called my bank and they told me I was probably ok since I didn't give them any info and didn't concent to anything....still, I plan to watch my bank account very closely. If these people call and you answere I would advise to just say NO do not call a***n and **** up...you never know with these people!
I just spoke with the FBI and they said there is nothing they can really do about it. They said the only way they can do so****ing is if you fall for it and they steal your iden***y.I then asked if it was some kind of fraud since they represented themselves as my credit card company, but he said the credit card company itself would have to file a complaint. Next call, my credit card company.
I agree with all comments above. I s****ed getting calls from the 517 number on Friday. I see the comment above that they bought an As Seen On TV product... Me too! The ***an ***ler. I told them to take my number off their list last night and they called this morning and woke me up. Oooo... I'm ****ed.
I've been getting calls from the 231 and 517 numbers. I bought an "As Seen On TV" product, which a lot of other people complaining about these calls had also recently purchased. The guy at the 517 number sounded a lot more polished and professional (which sadly means more people will fall for this). He did his thing about a free Walmart gift card for me, I said "You guys already tried this one on me", and he laughed and ***g up. Even after that, I keep getting calls from the number (I'm trying to think of a good way to mess with them).
hey tim, thanks for telling us where you subscribe to, it might come in handy. the only one that i use is amazon, and since you can buy from a lot of different sellers on there, maybe they sold some numbers idk but it might just be a quincidence.
same here for the last 3 days they've been calling over & over a***n. I just had back surgery & havn't used my visa card in a while.btw To help see where the leak is comming from I subscribe to Netflixplaystation networkXbox liveand made a purchase from newegg.com about a month agoand made a purchase from amazon.com about a month agoall using the visa debit card
keeps on calling my cellphone and not leaving a message!
Calling everyday and questioned my credit card information
I received the same call from the 517 number...the lady said I had recently used my Visa card for a purchase that qualified me for a gas card. She asked if I still took my mail in Greeley, but I didn't answer because I was already su****ious. She had the last 4 digits of a credit card I haven't used in months. She tried to get me to pay by saying there would be a $1.95 mailing fee. I told her I knew it was a scam and ***g up!!! CREEPY!!!!
The new number that this scammer is using today is 231-732-2732.
I got a call from that number this morning, and like most everyone else, same automated message wanting to verify a shipment. I hope they call me back so I can do the same thing I do to those piece of **** Nigerian scammers: give them the address of the local FBI office =)
i experienced the same situation as the author "internet_is_powerful". i have been receiving calls from this number for the past week, and no voicemails were left. mind you, they call at odd hours of the day. today i finally decided to answer and i was greeted by a non-automated female voice stating i was a 'preferred customer' who qualified for $120 dollars in gas rebates. she even stated that i made a recent purchase with my Mastercard ending in "****" (correct number) but could NOT state the amount i spent or from what company. they also offered Walmart gift cards, and a GENERAL discount card for an additional $29.99 a month.then she transfered be to a male employee, who tries to make you VERBALLY AGREE, and asks for your zip code. i s****ed arguing and raising my voice stating "I AM NOT INTERESTED!" The employee was very rude and argumentative who will do anything to persuade you to verbally agree. He had a nasty at***ude and will not let you off the phone. FINALLY, i ***g up on his a** and quickly called my bank to order a new mastercard. The male stated he was from "VISTA MARKETING" which i feel was a lie. Please Everyone beware of these people and their desperate tactics!
Called a few times the past few days. I answered today and it was a woman at first who had a loud background noise. She wanted to charge me $2.97 to ship me a box with gas rebates. They were then going to send me information about a discount that I would get for free for a month then they would charge me $30 for each month after that. Then transferred me to a rude man who wouldn't take no for an answer. Said they called because I made a purchase off the TV, computer, or phone... haven't made one of those purchases in over a month.
Calls s**** at 7:30 AM every morning for the past four days. No message left, when I did answer no one was talking then I was disconnected.
this # just s****ed calling me a couple of days ago and hasn't stopped... when i call back i get there automated recording saying i reached there "order confirmation department" they are calling to confirm my order.. the lady sounds like a fake its a scam...
They call me and sound like they are in a car.... I call the number back and they **** up and don't answer...
They've been calling me for the past couple days. Haven't picked up. But about a minute ago they forgot to **** up on my voicemail and it sounded like someone talking in a car, like a woman's voice.
I too have been getting calls from this number along with calls from the numbers 657-202-6666 and 231-732-2737. I of course don't recognize these numbers and don't answer them. After they **** up, I try calling them back to see who it was, and I get the same message saying that they are trying to confirm my shipping address. It appears the previous poster, "EB" states the problem. Don't answer these number, and don't give out any information to these people. If you fear they already have some of your bank information, go to your bank(s), explain to them the situation, and they will cancel your current card(s) and issue you new (a) one(s). It should be free, so it's worth it to save yourself from iden***y theft.
This is a fraudulent attempt to ***n enough information from you to complete other transactions on your card. It appears that they have the last four digits of the card number, address, phone #, etc. These pieces of information are relatively easy to come by. If they had enough information to use your card, they would not bother calling you which may rise su****ion. Just tell them, "Go to*****" and **** up.
They have called me half a dozen times in the last 24 hours. I have called back and it is an automated recording about an order but with no name of the company. the phone rang last night 1 time and i answered and they ***g up. really weird.
A person trying to sell a service for credit cards. They said they're a partner with the credit card company, not from the actually credit card company.
They called me a few minutes ago.
I just received a call from this number. When I tried to return the call, it says they are trying to verify an order I amde. I have not recently made any orders. Any thoughts?
They have called me 4 times in the past 24 hours, and I haven't answered, and they don't leave voicemails. If they call me a***n I am going to answer and tell them to shove it. And to take my # off their list.
I received these solicitous calls too, and the extremely rude and pushy gas card woman got me on the phone today with an "unknown" number. They said I made a purchase on my Visa card and that the free gas card was a courtesy. Ummm... I don't have a Visa card- Does that mean someone opened one up in my name or is it part of the scam?
I was receiving calls from (231)732-2737 which has many complaints about being a scam. Now I am receiving calls from this number too. Do not answer or give them any information.
First they have a nice representative saying that are going to send you gas cards, then they transfer you to an intimidating, rude, unprofessional person who tries to get you to make a VERBAL AGREEMENT with their company trying to charge your credit card for $2.95 shipping, then an additional $60 a month with a 800# to call to cancel, then they never give you the number. I told the representative they were unprofessional, rude and I didn't want anything sent to me and they said they were "SENDING IT ANYWAY" whether I like it or not. She argued with me for minutes, yelling at me (the supposed customer), then I ask to speak to a supervisor and the supervisor gets on the line she says "What, who? I can't hear anyone" and ****S UP. This line has been used by CON ARTISTS SINCE THE 70s! You call back the phone number and it's an automated system, doesn't say what company and doesn't give you the option to speak to anyone. Now i have to go to the bank tomorrow, cancel my account and transfer my funds. I hate solicitors.
Ignore this call if they try to get ahold of you! They are trying to obtain your credit card information. Search this number (231) 732-2737. These people are affiliated with the same location - they just have several numbers. All are based in Michigan. For about two weeks, I've been getting calls from (231) 732-2737 number and have recently checked it on this website. I believe people are cat****g on to their scam so they are using another number now. BEWARE!
