We have conflicting stories of scammers as well as the NYS Dept of Labor (or other NY government agency) switchboard. If it was from the NYS DOL the caller should be fired for not leaving a message, and then fire their supervisor for not training their subordinate, or at the least for not "supervising" their subordinate on how to do their job properly. If it wasn't, then oh well, that's what Caller ID is for, to screen those numbers I know and for everyone else to leave a message so that I can have enough time to research your number using websites like this so I don't waste my time with your useless a**.

So it's regarding unemployment or it's fraud

I think its from the State, the so****ing where you file claims on someone illegally firing you or so****ing with the DOL fraud, where they claim to find out what happened to your Unemployment money, but lies about what found out cause they dont care...

He took down my address

I received a call from this number 1/7/2011 @ 5:10pm He stated he is a State police and I left a message with the IRS had threaten workers. He would not give me his name or state number. I told him he is a lier.I am going to report this incident to the state attorney general. I think we should all send letters.

This is a New York State switchboard number. If you're getting a call from this number, it's an indication that a NYS government agency is attempting to contact you. You can't call this number directly, since it's not the actual phone number of the agency that's calling you.

this number called me. i was on the other line. i have tried numerous times to call it back and it is ALWAYS busy. my ***ch is that it is a telemarketer and probably a scam.
