I thought it was a scam or so****ing like that too. I called the number back just out of curiosity and it was indeed Verizon. I talked to a guy for about 2-3 min and it was basically a courtesy call. He wanted to offer me a promotion to extend my contract for 1 additional year and they'd take $80 off the price and to see that I was happy with their service. It was pretty much for customer's whos contracts are about to end. I had just renewed my contract 2 months ago, so instead he just took $80 off my next bill. I just got back ******cks on that 2-3 min phone call.....to think I almost didn't call at all.
