Leave a CommentI've received several calls from the above named number on my cell phone lately, and I do NOT have a Bank Of America account. I have no clue who is making those calls, I just keep ignoring them...
I returned calls that I missed to this number and they stated that they represent various card services and, until I provided my name and details, they could not explain which card company they were reprenting by their calls to me.
Its BoA. I am behind currently and have my payment pending through my internet account so I don't bother answering.
My message was directed to pie and smart guy for trying to tell Dave & Sophia that these were legit calls.
Sorry to Dave & Sophia, I'm sure you guys are in on the scam too. No, this is NOT a valid Bank of America number. I was on the phone with the REAL B of A just two days ago, took care of all my dealings with them (and I call the number that is included in my statements) and the very next day, get a call from some woman claiming to be from B of A. She asked for me by name, stated it was me, then she proceeded to ask for my SS#, my address, date of birth, etc, etc. Refused to give the information. ***g up, called the REAL B of A immediately, gave phone number that called me, explained what happened and the same woman I deal with on a regular basis****URED ME that this is NOT their bank calling!! And told me to NEVER give out any information!!So people, if ever in doubt, call the Company or Bank that the caller may claim to be from and see if its one of their numbers, if its their practice to call asking all this information, etc, etc. The people who do these calls will go to great lengths to get information from us. If they were really trying to help us.......as you claim.......they'd be open about who they are, and let you call a legit number (ie. from your statement, credit card, etc) to verify.Good try though...........a**holes!
i wasnt a scam. as you stated they had the worng no. so did it ever cross your mind that it was just the wrong no????come on people
Bank of America hasnt stopped them because they really are Bank of America. It is a valid no. and if you call and they ask you for your social security no. its only because your business(account) didnt populate automatically ( it would only populate if you call in from the same phone no. they have listed as your residence or pob). You dont have to give them your social, you can give them your full address or your phone no. that is on the account. The problem is that when you see this "foreign" no. on your caller id and you call it back and you want to know "who it is" and "what they want". Well they cant give you any information w/o knowing who you are. None of you have said that they call you and ask you for all your info because they dont. if you were avail when they called they wouldnt ask you for anything instead they would tell you why they are calling and offer****istance. So it really is bank of america people and i hope it doesnt take some ****py collections agency or your wages being garnished for you to realize that you ***g up on the people that were trying to help you.
I am getting tired of their calls! Can't Bank of America stop them from using their name!
They just called my cell and ***g up before I could answer. I called back and asked them who they were. The answer "A bank..". I then ***g up.
Three calls in a 1/2 hr. Keep telling them they have the wrong #, that there is NO PARTICIA/THOMAS JENKINS at this number. Have had this # for 4 years!!!
Same story. She claimed I was three months behind on my Bank of America credit card. The account has zero balance so I knew right away this was a scam. She also had the wrong name. Why can't Bank of America shut these crooks down?
It's a scam of some sort. You call the number (long distance at that) back and they want your social security number to access your account. They won't give you any info but they sure would like to get yours. We called Bank of America directly and talked to them. This is not a valid collection number or ****od. REPORT THIS ANYTIME THIS NUMBER CALLS. Help get rid of these s***s.
credit card services on caller ID. Called Bank of America and this is not one of their numbers. Customer service rep said this was a pfishing call and to ignore it.Scammers are now getting Bank of America on their caller ID's by using internet. I closed my Bank of America accounts seven yrs ago.
they asked for a variation of my brother in law and sister in laws names. They're dead-beats who don't pay their bills - I'd have to say its no coincidence that they called my phone number looking for them (very unusual last name along with correct first names). Probably a credit collections company that bought the bad debt and is now trying to track them down to collect. Wish I could help; they owe me money too...
This call came on my cell phone. I didn't answer
She said her name was Rhoda and wanted 300.00 for my credit card debt Bof a dosn't have my private number! It's a good thing I looked it up!
A man left a voice mail stating he was calling from Bank Of America and needed to talk to me about my account. He gave a toll free number to return the call to him. I have not called them back.
This is a FRAUDULENT COMPANY! They will try to get all your information from you to steal your iden***y. DO NOT give them any information!!!!!If they really were your bank, they would already have your info on file.I received a call from them as well..I noticed right away when they answered the phone, they never said the name of the company, their own name, nothing. They only wanted information from me. They knew my name, and and the name of the street I live on, but had no other information. They told me I owed payments on my credit card which was not true, and s****ed asking for my social security number to "check to see if they had the right account".........NEVER give your social security number to anyone asking for it! If they were really my bank, they would ONLY ASK FOR THE LAST 4 DIGITS TO VERIFY THE ACCOUNT. I told the lady I spoke to I would call bank of america myself to verify what she was saying...she also insisted I called the 1 866 298 0314 number immediately, and I told her no thanks, I will go to the bank of america website and get the correct number there, and I ***g up on her immediately.....then called the real bank of america to cancel the old card and send me a new one. They claim to be a subsidiary of Bank of America (and one does exist) but they are not them, and are posing as this company.THEN, they called me a***n a day after, asking for a different name...DO NOT GIVE ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION TO THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE IDEN***Y THIEVES.
It's Bank of America.
