Leave a CommentHow do we get the government to enforce the "no-call" list we all signed up for?
A gentleman with an accent stated he worked for Microsoft and they were contacting people with Windows XP to help them. He said turn on my computer and he would help me. I told him that I was at the beach and he said he would call back. Number shows location as Connecticut. I blocked the number, but can see that they have now called over 12 times. I should have said my house burned down with the computer in it.
guaranteed theses dingbats wanna ***** up yer PC, not fix it and wanna be paid to do so, as well
Same story as below. A woman with heavy Indian Accent said she was from Geeks Support Windows Operating System and that I had a virus. The irony is that I had just reformatted my computer system and was in the process of pat****g it. lol So there would have been a very short window for me to have contracted said virus. I ***g up on her.
This man called me and said he was from MSN and that my computer has a virus. He told me to open up my computer and click in box appyy or ammyyy. Any way I told him I just cut my computer off and I had a warranty on it. I couldn't understand their language so I ***g up the phone. I did s**** doing what he asked but got a little leery. I didn't trust them
Just got call, heavy accent sounding like a person from India wanting to check my operating system. Ha! Does anyone fall for this? Oh, and he said he was from "The Geek Squadron".
Said they were contacted by Microsoft about my windows computer was sending out malicious software/ads. Total Scam - 1. Microsoft does not have or gives out this info (you'd be lucky if they had this type of info on hand whenever having to deal with their tech support.) 2. If this were true, you'd more likely have member of a government agency paying you a personal visit. 3. We're mainly Linux users
Answered “Geek Support Hotline” (Heavy Accent) Told caller that I have received call from this #, as well as 860-777-0000 and that I am on the DNC Registry. After trying to persist, he ***g-up.
