Leave a CommentPlease report this and fight Bank of America in writing. Can't trust anything they say over the phone and watch for hidden deadlines in any dispute/fraud forms they may send. File an FBI report and if BOA denies your claims (for both fraudulent transactions) report them to the OCC.govGoogle other consumer complaint boards and post your situation. I even posted on clark howard's website and a volunteer called me back with the OCC suggestion and further help. Bank of America's anti-consumer position on disputes is legendary. With Banks and debit cards you must fill out a certain dispute form (a***n within 60 days, if not sooner) and keep everything in writing and make copies. The bank may relent with a phone call but don't trust anything they say until you see it. Banks answer to various authorities, reporting them may take time but you should prevail in the end. Ask your bank for a refund of the debit charge until the dispute is resolved so you'll have the emergency funds you need. (still follow through with the written dispute)
Do not visit the lafincs site since it's just a shell site, not a real merchant, where there's so****ing to even cancel or dispute. I took a google snap**** (cached) without visiting their site, called the number (I don't recommend this) and got a menu that asked me for my full credit card # and, get this, expiration date, before I could proceed to "customer service". I only called because Bank of America denied the obvious fraud and wanted me to pursue it from a dispute angle. If you want an indepth understanding see the posts of MGD at dslreports http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r24610419-Cre ... the-UK#24693436 Don't take "no" for an answer from your bank or credit card company, file a written dispute with as much detail as possible, file an FBI report, and even a police report. Make sure you dispute debit or credit charges in writing (not over the phone) within 60 days.
You MUST file a FRAUDULENT TRANSACTION claim. Going the 'dispute' route gives them the lazy out and it IS a fraudulent transaction..
Hey, so I am totally *****ed cause I got court in a couple days and they took the rest of my money I had, so no gas for me. It was $39.71 lafincs.com this month and I checked back a couple months and found one other charge for 39.95 from tppwebhelp.com which has an almost identical layout as lafincs. Of course Bank of America doesn't see this as fraudulent, but when I use my debit card in a different city they flag it and cut me off. ****it. This is such a bad time to get debit fraud.
So i've been reading these posts for a while, and the thing is my debit card ( and heck i used a credit card and somehow the fee got on my debit card) is from chase. so i'm confused? is it bad to go to that lafincs.com site to cancel the "membership?"
Bank of America sent me the dispute form (dated Aug 4th) which I mysteriously received August 12th with a deadline of August 13! On the form that I had to sign I had to agree to the arbitrary deadline or I would be held responsible for all charges. I wasn't about to sign that, waited 40 minutes on hold to tell a customer rep as much, who reassured me that the date meant nothing. Bull. I signed and faxed the thing on the 13th and plan to continue the dispute to the ends of the earth if my dispute is denied.Bank of America should never have allowed this charge to go through in the first place and now I have to go through hoops and meet imposssible deadlines to do a chargeback? I plan to add BOA as an accessory to fraud when I amend my FBI complaint.
Thanks. Ditto to all above. Charged on the 14th but caught it today. I'm going to the F.B.I. site right now and will get with Barclay's in the a.m. I hope they're better than BoA.
Lafincs.com is committing widespread credit card fraud!!The goverment (US ad UK) are allowing this criminal enterprise to function and steal; look at how recent all the compliants are! I cannot believe in this day and age a co. could take $39.71 right out of our accounts for NO REASON or PURCHASE!What I'm doing:1. ****ed the debit card, payment posted and cleared about 4 days later. Filing claim with bank, from what I hear they have been good about reversing the fraud charges from LAFINCS.COM.2. Called the police, filed a police report on criminal activity by credit card scam company LAFINCS.COM.3. Filed a report with the FBI.4. Slander LAFINCS.COM as hard as possible. You see, some of you people will do nothing. But LaFincs.com messed with the wrong one. I will not stop until I get back my orginal money and money in punitive damages. LAFINCS.COMYOU CAN PUT WHATEVER NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING PERSON ON THE PHONE THAT YOU WANT TO! WE ARE COMING FOR YOU LAFINCS.COM!!!!!!!!!!!!WE WILL CALL EVERYDAY!!!
F*cking site nearly made me over draft after all my bills came out. same **** price and everything just found out going to my bank in the am
Tks for sharing with the world....Just got off the phone w my local bank (issuing the Debt Card) and the Customer service that collects for these people (lafincs.com)....I got the charges reversed but not sure if it will not continue in the future..FYI...BoA is the worst for CC Fraud, glad I told them to 'Fly a Kite' late last year..
Got charged $39.71 on my CC in USD.I am In Australia and have never heard of Lafinci
This scam is widespread and we caught it early. It used to have different names like muhpop, mrslnet, billingservices, last year and before that probably. They count on people not cat****g the small charge for a few months or longer, and then being to embarrassed to dispute it because lafincs.com will say it was for an "adult site".When you file an FBI complaint (easy to do at fbi.gov I think) you can give them links to sites like this, showing that you aren't alone. In fact, one field asks whether you know of any other victims. I googled "39.71 fraudulent charge UK", lafincs.com, and other variations and came up with a few consumer message boards where victims are getting the word out.Google "FBI internet fraud" to find the correct site if it isn't fbi.gov. Complaint takes less than 5 mins and will make it easier for you to win the dispute with a stubborn bank or feet-dragging credit card company like Bank of America.
SCAM!!!a few seconds agoSAME THING happend to me!!! 39.71!!I had the debit card canceled immediately. Next, I called the LaFincs.com and it's a total joke. On purpose non-English speaking people get on and s**** telling me I have to give them my SS # and name before they can "access my info." I never gave this fly by nite crime organization my info to begin with. So I had myself and 7 other people in my office all call at the same exact time for over an hour!!!Everyone got non-answers and lies from rude reps. Truly ridiculous. I filed a claim with the bank and on an FBI website.DO THE SAME!!DON"T let them win!File claims, complaints and police reports until LaFincs.com is gone!!
SAME THING happend to me!!! 39.71!!I had the debit card canceled immediately. Next, I called the LaFincs.com
yeah same happened to me as an America First costumer, never even heard of the **** thing when my bank called me up on fraudulent charges
Thanks for the confirmation that the trail leads to CCBill. I called and emailed them explaining in detail that I only used the card charged by lafincs.com at CCBill - there was no escaping the connection. Their final reponse was I must have spyware, denying they share credit card information or had a breach in security. See past articles about CCBill and cybercrime in the Register newspaper in the UK, easy to find with a search. I had trusted CCBill for 11 years but no more. Please file a complaint at the FBI Internet Fraud site, it takes about 5 minutes, if that. The UK no longer treats bank/credit fraud as a police matter and leaves it to the banks. The UK has an unbelievable fraud rate as a result of lax policing.Don't back down from a dispute with the credit card company since you have zero liability. Go to the comptroller, state attorney generals, and so forth. 80%-85% of consumers do not contest these unauthorized charges: what the banks and thieves count on.
Yeap, beware of Lafincs.com they charged my CC a $39.71, had to cancell my CC and got a new one had to thank the CC fraud company that i used, even thou i got charged anyway, at least they gave a heads up. After doing a websearch on lafincs.com found this and other that are getting charged. I did use a CCBill.com at the beginning of the year, and after reading others that have have use this that somehow they are sharing you CC#. This company need to get shut down.
Was the bank charged Bank of America? In my case, I'm getting the run around from them. I got a letter from the BOA fraud department telling me that they will take "no action" and I will be responsible for all charges. Wow. Their dispute department claims the charge is in dispute and I will get an acknowledgment of that in the mail soon. Meanwhile, they closed the card and reissued another one.I've heard of Bank of America being anti-consumer but taking the credit card thief's side is almost criminal. In fact, when the dust settles on this dispute, I will close my BOA account for good.A coincidence in the puzzle is that I had joined a UK site through CCBill (no problems with them in ten years), that this was the first UK site I had ever joined, period, and 3 weeks later I discover a fraudulent transaction from the UK on the same credit card.I filed an FBI report and will dispute this charge to the ends of the earth with Bank of America. I have no life and have the time.
Same here, got a erroneous charge on my CC for 39.71 from this company. Have no clue who they are or how they got my CC#.
charged $39.71 for lafincs.com which I had never been to or heard of. international fraud based in the UK according to WHOIS searches.
