I was hacked on my computer and couldn't even get out of the screen so had to call the microsoft warning telephone number to get direction for getting out of the screen and avoiding a hacker trying to take over my computer. It was a microsoft phone number supposedly. The guy went all into my computer and got rid of the hacker(s) and I ended up buying protection from him. Is this number I called a scam to sell me microsoft protection?

JackSyl Look people you have to understand that there are legal and illegal ways to go about collecting a debt. Most are actually covered by federal law yet a few are state specific. Before you give any of these people any information do two things research and make sure you actually owe them money and get a lawyer. The tactics they use are often illegal and by doing so they can actually cause themselves to be liable to you for monetary compensation. Yes you should always pay your bills and if a collections agency is doing the right thing you will know it.
