According to Google, many people (including me) complaining of text messages to mobile phones costing $5 each from this number. http://www.mobilemessenger.com/consumerprotection.php lists this as their "Consumer Protection line" but calling it brings an automated response, not a "live agent" as promised on the website. I *did* subscribe to their service but only due to a misleading online popup advert.

i have never put my cell no. on any internet webpage before, but today on midnight, I received 3 messages, by checking rogers online bill, I found out that I got charged for 10 cn$,  the first one was 0, the second and the third was 5 $ each.message came from 34788, service line was 8888466939

i sent txt     stop txt   and got reply  at your request we will no longer send you messages in etc.i hope this works  i will also call my cell phone company to tell them if this is not stopped i will not pay the extra charges on it!!1 everyone please call your cell phone companies and complain and tell them our not paying!!!!! i hate this s**t...this is why i do not trust any internet ..its all bs and scams!

I think this should be reported as a scam or fraud.  It's criminal.

I got a call from 1-888-846-6939 Sa****ay. I actually got 2 messages, one saying some BS saying that if I unravel my DNA it would stretch all the way to the moon., and the other was some guess 2 win ****. You guys actually got off lightly, I was charged $10 for each message. I texted STOP but just a couple of minutes ago is was sent 2 more messages. I was charged $5. I texted STOP to them as well. Same thing, was on You Tube and got this pop-up quiz advertising a chance to win an iPad, Iphone and a PlayBook. I gave my Cell # and then had to confirm a 4 digit code that was sent to my cell. Anyways, I immediately s****ed getting msgs and so I called the #888-846-6939 and ask them to unsubscribe me from their services immediately. I spoke to a Leonard who ask me which 5 digit # I was receiving msgs from, he then gave me a confirmation number and ask that I call back in 24 hrs to confirm that my # was unsubscribe from all services. I better not be charged a pennie because nowhere on the initial 'sign-up' forms was there any fine print about charges to my wireless bill. I will take all of them to court! Ah, the company is called Mobile Content Telephone Line at 1-888-846-6939.

I was getting text messages from '223-34' after my wife did an IQ test and entered my cell number. I texted stop back to that number and received a text immediately after saying 'At your request we will no longer send you messages in connection with this service'. I hope I don't get any more.

I texted STOP! to the number. They sent me a message saying you will no longer receive our 'junk'. Hope that works.

yeah i got one too when i did the Facebook IQ test when i entered my mobile number i always get this text message every once a day.

Trying to get me to reply/call the above number for $1.50 charge by spamming text messages to my Cell

hello, I get the same message in my cell and it does not show anything only the 1.50 which i never asked for, is there a way to block them?

i was on the discovery channel web site somehow a quiz comes on and asks for my cell number to send the results to I enter it and get a message that says I have joined some message thing for 1.50 per day and 5.00 per week.
