A guy called me from (901) 290 7208 and also from (615) 671-9*** heavy accent claming his name was officer kevin smith stated my last four digits of my ssn he claimed he was with the bureau of criminal identification! and said there was a serious legal case file a***nst my name and my social security number!

Call the Federal Trade commision and report it. that is the only way they can be caught

I just got a call from Tennesse Bureau of Identification too. Funny how these Tennesse officials have a strong Indian accent but no southern accent. My calls came from 916-395-0000 but I was told their number is 901-878-3229, which is a number in Grand Junction, TN. I filed a compliant at www.ftc.gov and with TN attorney general's office. "Deon Bishop, legal supervisor" told me that there was a case filed under my SSN with their government agency & that officers would be coming to my employer and/or mailing address. Deon then read off some email address like that was my mailing address. DUH! I ***g up the phone & he called right back. "Did you just **** up on me?" I told him yes, get the hint and he goes into "Well I just talked to your manager and you're going to lose your job now". Funny thing is that he couldn't tell me the name of my "manager" that he talked to or if it was male or female. What an idiot!Seriously though, if you get these calls, file complaints. You can do it online at www.ftc.gov. I filed one before & a couple months later got a call from NY attorney generals office about one of these companies that called me before & they needed my affidavit because they filed charges on this company. Maybe if that type of thing happens enough, these idiots will realize it & leave us alone.

I received a call from Victor at 901-457-1810 he said that i was going to jail and the sheriff was coming to pick me up i explained to himthat better happen and ***g up he called me 34 times after that to tell me he likes me wants to kiss me and alot of ***ual inuendos towards me.  i called back to talk to the supervisor and he ***g up on me.  Bogus company!!!!

You are a straight fool if you gave those pakastains any money.Just like this attorney said they said the same ******** to me.Its a straight SCAM.

I am an attorney and these people called my client.  I contacted them and they told me they were a state agency for the State of Tennessee, Bureau of Criminal Identification.  I asked for address and they gave me their "headquarters' address, which was the State of Utah's Bureau of Criminal Identification.  When I pointed out that a State of Tennessee Agency would not be "headquartered in Utah" (could they be any dumber), they ***g up.  I have reported them to the real State of Utah Bureau of Identification and they are now conducting an investigation.

I had just received a call from "Officer Maria Watson" from this number stating she was from the Bureau of Criminal Identification and she had a 'legal fees file' a***nst one of my best friends. She also said I was listed as the reference # and that I should call back immediately, as it is a 'time sensitive' matter. The woman had a very thick Indian accent and had a hard time enunciating. My message cut off the ext. #, not that I'd call them anyway. I googled that dept. and they don't have one for the state I'm in, plus if my friend was in any trouble, she would've called me straight away. This just screams scam. When I hear 901 whatever it sounds like a chatline of some sort. These people are kinda dumb, I hope they catch them soon.

They gave me the same song and dance and call back number lol.  I called my local FBI and gave them a description of the harassment and they told me to report a claim on www.ic3.gov, which I did.  Next time they call I will tell them I called the FBI and reported a claim on this website and hopefully they will stop harassing me and my family.

caller called..it is a collection agency...they apparently dont know the FDCPA because they left threats on the voicemail. caller ID'd himself as officer victor and supervisor is Bishop...neithe rone would give a good name of company they would just say buruea of criminal investigations.

I got a message frmo Victor to call back the 901-457-1810, when I called back I spoke with a guy who said hs name was Ethan Bishop.  They are claiming to be collecting for CashNet USA.  I contacted CashNet USA directly and they have never heard of these people.  Do not give them any info.  **** up on them.  They are breaking credit and collection laws by not giving you their company info, the people they represent, and for calling you derogatory names.

These a** holes are calling me as well and they try to claim that you owe money to a payday loan company and if you dont pay it, they will pursue further legal action. You can't understand the *******s, they sound Indian but it's ****ing me off. They claimed I owed $600. They knew the last four digits of my ss # and the last 4 digits of my bank account number, my email address, and my home address. The guy that called me was allegedly Officer Henderson and he is rude as*****. I told him to **** you know what, **** scammin *******s..

Yes, i got one of those calls today too..they are a scam and they need to be shut down..how do you get these people off your back and get them shut down??

5/7/10:  I recieved a voicemail message on my cell phone from a woman with a heavy foreign accent.  She claimed her name was "Jennifer Harrison" and she was with the Bureau of Criminal Identification (she didn't say what state's bureau of criminal identification just the generic name).  It went on to say that she had a "lawsuit"/"case file" on my name and had the last four digits of my social.  She said to call back ASAP or they would be "forced" to take legal action a***nst me.  Being an attorney, I know that if I was named in a lawsuit as a defendant I would have been properly served (ie--you don't find out that you are named in a lawsuit from a voicemail...someone, the sheriff or a process server, has to serve you with the complaint so that you have notice of the suit).  It bothered me that these people had some of my personal information so I called the number back from my work phone (which comes up unlisted).  A man with a foreign accent answered "Hello" (not Bureau of Criminal Investigation, so and so speaking...) and asked for my first and last name.  I told him my first and last name.  He asked me to spell it and provide him with more personal information, I stated that I didn't want to give out personal information over the phone, that I was promtly returning their call as instructed and that they should be able to tell me what was going on.  The man abruptly stated "We will not call back anymore, sorry" and ***g up.  Obviously this is a scam...I wanted to add to the comments here because my story is so similar to everyone else's so far.  DO NOT give out any personal information to these people because its a scam!

They keep calling. I just pick up and tell them to **** my you know what. It's become a game my friends and I play. We take turns insulting them. They get pretty mad but they are probably in India what the *** can they do.

this number has called my house and my work and my ***her, my ***her told him not to call and the man became very rude to him, my ***her ***g up on him and he called back saying you ***g up on me, my ***her told him not to call him no more and ***g up, the man then tried to call my ***her several more times but my ***her did not answer the phone. it is a***nst the law in the state of texas not to tell someone if it is a debt collection call, he left a message on my answer ma****e and from what i can understand of him says the sa****ing. same number and ext 5001.

I had a similar call today from an officer Mcwatson with the same garbage.

A foreign man call me he said he was from bureu criminal of identification and gave me my  last 4 digits of my social security and gave me correct info of my house and all so that really scared me he said I needed to send 1500 immediatly cause I was going to jail for a loan that I owed and I don't owe anything he said an officer was on his way to my house he then transfer over to jennifer who would the officer immediatly if I made the payment right away it was to su****ious and I ***g up and they have call me all day today

Towel head called and said he was form a security of corrections and that I was a suspect in a legal deed then next time he called said a legal matter.  He had my last 4 digits of my ss#.  He said he was from TN said his name Was John Brown, if that is his real name I'm the secretary of state LOL.  He first called me at work then twice at home.  If I could understand everything he said which was next to impossible!!!
