Repeated calls from Alternative Resources.I think it is a fax call.No message, but very bothersome. I want it to stop.940-383-5793

One of dozens of calls from 940 area; sounds like looking for fax handshake but answering only elicits a recording to the effect that the response is not valid and then the call is terminated. No way to call back or to fax back. Complaints to the FCC have not effect and local phone companies or long distance carriers are no help.

I keep receiving calls from a 940 area code.  The calls sound like a fax ma****e.  My called id says "ALTERNATIVE REC".  I only get busy signals when I attempt to call them back.

I get the same thing.  A FAX keeps calling everyday one or two times per day.  Other numbers that also do this are ***-474-3126, 940-566-3471, 940-382-8962, and 817-523-4972.

The call was dropped when my answering service picked up. It may have been a phone bank or a spam fax call.Denton, and areas near Denton and Dallas, harbor a nest of spam FAX operations. The Attorney General should take notice of this, it is a very*****ounced, and apparently localized problem.It may be****ociated with reported illegal phone banking out of the same area, though that connection is inferential, and I have no direct evidence of it.

When I answer I hear a single beep tone and then a recorded female voice says "that is not a valid entry" and the caller disconnects.  This occurs about once every two weeks or so.

I don't know but I get the same thing.

Yeah They did the same to me. Called I answered a couple of ****on tones and disconnect.

When answered, get two tones, nothing else. Happens every day.

Just received call from this number (Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at 4:01 p.m.  ***ody on other end, just FAX ma****e sound.
