Leave a CommentI received a call from them today on my cell phone! She said there was an extra charge on my phone bill. I told her I didn't have a phone, she asked if I had a cell phone, I said yes and she said ok and then ***g up. Is it possible for them to steal my cell phone service? Interesting thing is that just the night before, I had signed up from Qwest's dsl service and gave them my cell number. I don't have a phone service. I think that's where they got it from. I don't know if someone is stealing this information from Qwest and passing it on to this company or if they are getting it in some other way.
I have Qwest phone service for my land line phone. On 11/7, I received a call from US Telecom Long Distance calls (from # 949-260-9***) informing me:* They handle the long distance service for Qwest* I made too few long distance calls on my land line phone * They were decreasing my monthly charge by $6.00/month.I asked if they were calling the right number and they told me "yes" and responded with my phone number. Not feeling comfortable with the call, I called Qwest. The Qwest representative asked if I answered "yes" at any point during my conversation -> which I did. Though I was never asked about swit****g carriers, Qwest told me that US Telecom Long Distance might have been trying to "steal" my long distance account from Qwest and I put a freeze on account transfers for my Qwest account.
I have seen this number on my caller id way too many times. I am asked if im me but they **** up. I've noticed that they try to sound like a friend or family member when they ask it so and so. What scammers

I just received a call from these idiots. They asked who handled the telephone service and I replied the owner and he said oh is this a business I said yes and he ***g up. So I called the number back and talked to customer service and told them what I thought... made him listen to me tell him how the way they conduct their business is so unprofessional , etc... and he said ok mam' , i'll put you on the do not call list... we will see!
if you get someone to speak to you, ask if they work for U.S. Telecom or U.S.Telecom.com.The later company is much less reputable, and is reportedly run by David and ***ndon Bell out of Monrovia, but they have a number of different phone numbers which they dial from. They seem to have no interest in actually selling anyone here anything. If someone would engage them, we could perhaps get more information on them.
I got home today from my usual errands and saw I had a missed call. I did not recognize the number so I called it back from my cell phone to try and avoid any possible third party billing and an agent answered the phone and asked what number I was calling about. I inquired about who they were and what they would calling about. He told me that it was a third party billing company called US TELECOM LONG DISTANCE calling to sell me long distance. I told him that I have a long distance carrier and that I did not need any long distance and since I work for the phone company that I use as my carrier I refused the long distance and all their hidden charges that apply with any third party billing.
i have had a million calls on my office phone from this number. Today they said they would put me on the do not call list. We will see

Update: 04/10/2008Got another call! (you should see the look of shock on my face :| ) (not!). As you can see from my previous post that it's been more than 24 hours since telling them to put me on their do not call list. This time I didn't answer my business phone as normal. "This is __me__.....hello?", I said. The woman obviously didn't hear me when I indicated WHO I was and asked for "Linda *some _unintelligible_name_*". I said "no", and s****ed in on how they keep calling me after I told them not to. She ***g up on me. *****. Any bets on whether they annoy me next week? If they do maybe I'll play along, put them on hold for 30 minutes to look for "Linda _so****ing_so****ing_"....Hey, I just might find her too before US **** Telecom *really* puts me on their do not call list....
I s****ed getting called from 949-260-9*** about early March on my office phone. The company claimed to be "US Telecom Long Distance". Yay, just when I thought I was safe from telemarketeirs I have to deal with them bugging me at work. I always answer the phone "*company name* *department name* *my name*, How may I help you?". Every time they discover it's a business they **** up BUT THEY STILL KEEP CALLING. I've called them back three occasions, most recently today (04/08/08) and spoke to someone called "Brenda", operator #7437. She apparently is used to people complaining about their lousy sales staff. She alleges that it takes "24 hours" to be put on the "do no call list", but obviously that list isn't atteneded to very well hence the spambardment of sales calls post-listo-me-addo. My phone shows (7) of my last 100 calls are from this boiler room operation. Hmm...wonder how they'd like a few thousand sales calls directed at them? :)
Yep.. just got the call. Interestingly enough, I work for Verizon. She said the same thing to me- 'You have overages and next month we'll take care of that.' 'All ******ia customers with low usage now have this plan. We're just calling everyone to let them know' I told her thank you. Repeated the information back to her. Got her affirmative and then told her who I was and that I worked for Verizon and was glad that she was flat out lying to customers about what she was doing (ie slamming) and that I'd be reporting. I don't think however she heard everything I said as she ***g up on me.
Keep getting calls at work from this number. I usually don't answer but finally decided too. Haven't spoken to anyone yet. Can't wait too though. Thanks for your input. I know just what to say....
Just got a call at 6:16 PM. The guy told me he was from US Telecom and he was calling about overage charges on my phone bill. He asked if I was the person responsible for paying the bill. I laughed and told him he was confused. He thanked me for my time and ***g up. Heh. Based on how our phone service is set up, there's no way that was a legitimate call.
Female caller said she was with US Telacom and there was an over-charge on my phone bill and wanted to know if I was the decision maker of the house-hold (kind-of-funny because she called my business line and I answered stating the name of my company)-- when I told her this was a business, she quickly back-tracked indicating she knew she was calling my business (but didn't know the name -- even after I answered with the name), she quickly asked if I had my account information available.... I answered "no" and that I didn't think she was who she indicated she was -- the caller ***g up.
Caller asked to speak to Mr.andrews I asked who was calling, they ***g up.
call came in saying there were overage charges on my phone bill each month and that we would instantly save 10.95 per month, "does that sound good?" he asked.i then said where are you calling from he replied, us telecom, i then said whats my phone service, he said same one you have had I asked him to tell me the name and that he should know and he quickly ***g up!!!
Caller wanted to verify my phone number and when I asked why she told me there was an overcharge reported, now i wanted to know who reported this over charge, she s****ed to say so****ing like we see your account is low use and (here's the kicker, i got her, my account is not low use!!!) then she quickly asked me if I was Mrs. Sanberg and when I told her no, she ***g right up.
