Claims to be Officer A.J. Peterson from consumer protection agency. About the IRS sending them my name & a red flag was raised so he is requesting me to call about my personal information. This is a new number, but I have received many other numbers with 202 area code that are scammers attempting to collect fees. This is a phone call, not a text.

They are saying a case is set for this week in Federal Judicial Court a***nst me. Man claims to be an officer of the United States Government and I should return his call immediately. Gave this phone number. Instantly tells me call cannot be completed & ****s up. Definitely a fraudulent call.

penny derooy i recieved calls from this number and one other one.one said put 200.00 on a card,the other said 0 dollars but needed my account number.i put a 1 in front of the phone number on my caller id and called them back,i call them every 10 minutes to call them scammers,they always **** up.

My mother received a call today (8/12/10) from a man saying that he was an agent with the Federal Trade Commission and that she had been awarded $350,000 from Random House. "They" had been trying to reach her for a month. The man identified himself as Dan Lindel. He gave her the federal trade commission's website to give himself authenticity. He wanted her to pay 1% of the award. When she declined, he said that maybe he could have it taken out of the check and wanted her to call him back.

Grant scam. Asked for my husband and said he was selected to receive $6000 grant from the US Government Grants Department. we are not calling back. gave me an approval number and name Kenny (man with an Indian accent)
