John Finnerty I got a text from this number and I did not recognize who it was. I asked who it was and he said Craig from my bank. I said I don't know anyone named Craig. He said "correct, I am from your bank and need some information regarding your account to update your records. I told him my bank has all of the correct informaiton. A few days later I got a text from this same number and I asked who it was and then he said his name is Gibson. I asked where are you from and he said my bank's name. I asked who he got my contact information from and he said my wife. I don't have a wife. He is obviously phishing for information to try and scam me and I did not give him any information. Watch out for texts from this number.

LEts get even Press the menu option to "SPEAK WITH AN AGENT" - - - most of the time, you will never get a live body. So - just leave them a recording and ask them to take you off their list. SOMEONE at their end has to screeen the recordings because that's their life blood. So - the more useless recordings we leave them - the more inefficient they'll become. LEAVE LOADS OF MESSAGES ! ! ! ! ! if you DO get thru to someone - - you need to be very deft and lie. Act real real real interested - - - - Describe the probelms you're having paying your bills - - -- At some point - - get a little information like the name of the company or a way to call back . . . . Once you have a callback number - - -- or name of a company - - post it here and we can s**** returning the harassing calls !!!!!! LOL ! ! ! !
Recorded message upon answering, offering to "lower your credit card rate." At end of message, Press (#) to talk to a rep to lower rate. (Aug 2010)I pressed option # to talk to rep. I noted that recorded msg didn't say which credit card company. Rep said they "represent Visa, incl Chase & Bank of America, that they work with both companies to lower credit card rates. I said no thanks, would call companies directly if interested, don't want to go thru a 3rd party. I've had several of these calls, two recent, all with different (cell) numbers (haven't answered any since first one).Looks like a scam to me.
Bothered We have had many phone calls from this number and we would like to know how to stop it.
frustrated got another call from them today. Says he is from local biz helper and that it is my free online listing that people see when they go to 411.com. I asked so many questions and would not answer his that he got totally frustrated. He was huffing and puffing and talking to me like I was the idiot. I asked him what happens at the end of the free trial, would my phone number be charged. He said no, that that was a***nst the law. He finally ***g up on me but not before he threatened to call back until I updated all info.

Eric This is some kind of sales call. When I returned the call, I got a voice thanking me for calling back and asking me if I wanted to stop the calls. Now this could well be a way to capture my phone number and we shall see.
THM Well I had got scammed a while ago and this people were from a completely different city, the only reason I know this is the first ones had thick mississippi accents these people had a nutral accent. So they also told me that I had outstanding debt to them and that I could have the "New and improved price of 16.99 mo" to which I went along with it till they s****ed saying I had to pay. I said there was a problem. Which I instanlty got rerouted to a "Supervisior" she was nice and asked if the sales person was mean or not to which I said no but I asked if they were an affiliate of Reading America. I got a silence and the phone went dead. These people are Reading America. They scammed me, don't let them scam you.
Freddy This number is calling my house.
Public service announcement recoding. Debt relief telemarketing.
scornforn i immediately s****ed receiving these phone calls after signing up for a book club... i called the number back and was given a message that said "if you would like to opt out of our special promotions, press 1..." so it seems to be a telemarketing call to me, if you call the number back you may be given the option to put your number on their "do not call" list, which takes up to 72 hours to take effect.
sjacobson calls and rings 3 times before ****ing up.
The national pandemic of telephone terrorism perpetrated by desperate criminal collection agencies is because they are trying to terrorize people who are naive enough to answer and submit to unsolicited telephone calls or written "collection" letters that have no legitimate legal debt****ociated with them or any of the companies, universities, or whomever else they claim to represent. Because most "little guys" were bankrupted by the criminal Wall St/Congress/Big Oil/Big Bankers/Big Business/Military/Robber Barons, so the desperate collection agencies are attempting to collect unpaid debts from innocent people by terrorizing them into submission.Word of advice. NEVER answer any calls you don't recognize or are not expecting. Use selective call rejection service if available, or switch to an Internet-based telephone service which provides comprehensive call rejection options. If rogue calls become chronic, turn off all the ringers on all of your phones except one, and set its volume to the minimum setting. If you don't answer the call and the caller is legitimate, they will usually leave a voicemail after the first or second try. Rogue callers never leave voicemail messages because that could be used as evidence a***nst them if it came to a lawsuit. If you receive a rogue letter in the mail warning you of some "collection" action a***nst you, if you don't actually owe it, reply with a short letter stating that you don't owe it. Or if you do owe all or part of it, reply with so****ing like "You claim I owe you a debt. Under §809 FDCPA, I request validation of this debt."Only give them your name as THEY have written it to you (e.g. “John Doe” not “Jonathon Q. Doe” or however you normally sign your own name), address, and the account number they report. But if you do not owe the debt (zombie debt, aged debt, mistaken or stolen iden***y, forgery, etc.) state that you have never done any business with them or with the (alleged) original creditor of any kind and you expect the collection agency to close the matter, stop harassing you and take any bad credit marks they've caused off of your credit rating, and furthermore, that any further contact from them must be in writing on their official business correspondence letterhead. Send your letter to them a.s.a.p., always within thirty days, first class certified mail return receipt requested. If they refuse it and you get the letter back unopened, leave it unopened and save it in your files as evidence a***nst them should they pursue legal action a***nst you. If they did receive it and continue to pursue action a***nst you, let them. The judge will throw it out of court. If the rogue collection agency sells your account to another rogue collection agency just tell them the claim has been proven invalid and offer to send them a copy of your letter to the previous rogue collection agency. Warn all your friends about this rash of desperate collection agency terrorism, and how to combat it. Knowledge is power. The more you learn how to combat rogue collection agencies, back-taxes scammers, and other flimflammers, the more you will learn how easy it is to do.Above all, keep a record of everything, of every rogue call w/ caller ID information displayed including time and day of each call. Maintain a complete file on any snail-mailed intimidation from rogue collection agencies, including copies of all correspondences and postal receipts. Reporting rogue calls on sites like800notes.com, whocallsme.com, phoneowner.info is a great idea too, because many people find these sites by googling for the rogue number(s) after receiving calls from them.--S**** Here:http://www.google.com/search?num=50&q=%C2%A7809+FDCPAhttp://www.google.com/search?num=50&q=zombie-debthttp://www.google.com/search?num=50&q=slander-of-credithttp://www.google.com/search?num=50&q=limited ... llection-agencyhttp://www.privacyrights.org/fs/fs27-debtcoll.htmhttp://www.ehow.com/way_5849463_do-up-certified-dispute-letter.htmlhttp://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Defeat-a-Collection-Agencyhttp://hubpages.com/hub/Battling-Consumer-Debt-Collectors-Part-2-I-Do-Not-Owe-This-Debthttp://hubpages.com/hub/Sample-letters-for-disputes-to-creditors--collectors-and-credit-bureaushttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FDCPAhttp://www.fair-debt-collection.com/Disputing ... ute-letter.html (most say the above sample letter is too long and should be much shorter)http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/statue-limitations.htmlCredit Report:https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jspUSPS:http://www.usps.com/send/waystosendmail/extra ... mailservice.htmhttp://www.usps.com/send/waystosendmail/extra ... eiptservice.htmOther links:http://www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/personal/02/29 ... tors/index.htmlhttp://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Defeat-a-Collection-Agencyhttp://clarkhoward.com/shownotes/category/12/103/358/http://clarkhoward.com/topics/drop_dead_letter.html--Information for filing complaints a***nst rogue telephone calls, telephone harassment, false "bill collector" harassment, etc.,in the United States and Ca***a:UNITED STATESUS National Do Not Call Registry, file complaint: https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspxFederal Trade Commissionhttp://www.ftc.gov 1-877-382-4357File complaint online: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.govhttps://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=enthat is at www.ftc.govFederal Communications CommissionTelephone toll free: 1-888-225-5322http://www.fcc.gov/contacts.htmlFile complaint online: http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumers.htmlhttp://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htmFCC Abandoned Calls Complaint form:http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/1088D-R.pdfemail: [email protected] Business Bureau, Check out a Business, find owner, contact info; file a Complaint:http://www.bbb.org/us/INTERNET CRIME:File report for Internet Crime at:Internet Crime Complaint Centrehttp://www.ic3.gov/default.aspxCA***ARCMP Phone bustersTelephone toll free: 1-888-495-8501Mon-Fri 8:30-5:20 pm (Eastern Time)E-mail: [email protected] Website is at: http://www.phonebusters.com File complaint online: https://www.recol.ca/intro.aspx?lang=en(Register with a password and then can continually file complaints)Ca***a National Do Not Call Registry:Ca***ian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC)Telephone toll free to File A Complaint: 1-866-580-3625(to withdraw a complaint is 877-249-2782)CRTC online complaints form: https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/pfplin-fccoin-engthat is at www.crtc.gc.caBetter Business Bureau, Check out a Business, find owner, contact info; file a Complaint:http://www.bbb.org/ca***a/
Al in AZ I have been getting calls from this number every morning at 6:27 am.....The name appears as TDK and my log says it is from Miles City MT. I called the police in Miles City and they have investigated this. It is some kind of credit****istance scam and they are useing computer based dialing and it is going through interstate. It is impossible to trace and the Local police don't have jurisdiction. The US Secret Service has been notified, but they will not take action unless someone is scammed for a large amount of $$$$$. Your only recourse is to block the call......which you have to pay your phone company to do! The police believe the company is located in Florida. Verizon has no record of this number either land based or cell.....but when you do a reverse look up it says the carrier is Verizon. Doesn't this really stink!
grisel They call minute after minute so annoying
