I received a call from this number 16465200695 at 6:42 AM this morning. I called it back later in the day, as another company I do business with has an area code that begins with a 6... I just****umed it was them. I waited on hold and listend to the employment opportunity information based on an application I allegedly submitted online. I haven't applied for a job online recently, so I feared it was one of those overseas phone scams and ***g up after a minute. I googled the number and found this site... Crazy, we really have to be careful in this day and age.
Yeah, it is bogus, and a scam, they work through sites like craigs list to solicit online college courses, thats how they advertise "looking for jobs".Just tell em no, and to get lost.save yourself time and money.
Received call on cell re: application I sent. Recording stated they tried to call before(did not!)and employer wants to stay confidential until I call back. Yeah, right!! Never applied to anyone in New York or would have any type of corp ofc there. No way am I calling back. Will be blocking this phone #. TOTAL SCAM!!! Also have received bogas job offers with conterfit CareerBuilder page, i.e., "looking for Legal US Representatives"...yada, yada, yada..."to process payments"..."must have US bank account"...yada, yada, yada...IMMEDIATELY reported to FBI. Per FBI its****ociated with the ole' Nigerian scam. Agent stated the more complaints FBI receives about a particular scam email or phone# it will get priority since FBI get so many these days. You gotta watch it! Scammers really growing now! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE OUT your SS#, etc to any unknown en***y!!!!!!!
I recevied a call from the same number and I received the same line about continuing my education as the people above. On numerous jobsites while filling out my information I've been very careful to NOT check the boxes about wanting calls about continuing my education. I don't want these types of calls as I would go directly to the educator/s of my choice if that is what I was looking for. I'm very frustrated with these "predatory" companies.
this number just called my cell phone---and yes, i believe they are from some online "job/career" website. i applied for a few jobs, where they sent you a link to an online application. this is where they s**** asking if you are interested in going back to school. last week, i answered my cell phone, as i have sent my resume to numerous job postings--it was a guy trying to sell me an online college education. i told him that i wasn't interested and that i applied FOR A JOB. yeah---it's not exactly a scam........but......it is slightly disingenuous.
I recieved a few call from this number today. I tried to call back as I am looking for a new job and so****ing told me this was not right so I ***g up. What a shame some people in this world are out to mess with people who are honestly doing the right thing.
sounds like a scam to me. Sad that they are preying on people who are desperate for a job. I have s****ed getting employment related scams both by phone and e-mail after posting my resume on job sites.
I just received a call from this number and they ***g up when I answered. I called it back and it rang about 6 times then ***g up. I wish they wouldn't call on my cell phone - costs me money!
Usually when an unknown number calls me, I have my YouMail that sends a text message to my cell phone as if it were also a caller ID on my mobile, so I am****uming when this number called me at 9 in the morning, was probably a prank call. No caller ID and no message left. Glad I don't answer seeing as all the comments on here say it's basically a hoaxy number..
I received a call on my cell phone, Feb 20, 09 at 10:24 am, which I did not answer because I too didn't recognize the number. They left a message on my voice mail about Employement. This is concerning that I may get a call from a job application I filled out and now I'm afraid of answer due to call like this. I decided to put the number I received in google, is how I'm finding out it may be a scam. What can we do about this?
I received an automated call from 646-520-0695 and the computer put me on hold for about 9 minutes saying that a customer service representative from Employment Select Verification Department would be with me shortly to verify my information. A female person did pick up the line then, and just verified some generic information like name, address, and ask was I interested in furthering my education. I said yes, and she said someone from a 321 number would call me back in about 10 - 15 minutes. I had applied for a job online, and so I guess this is how they got my phone number. About 20 minutes after I spoke with her I did get a second call from 321-249-1490 and the fellow really tried to press me into giving him information about what kind of degree I wanted to pursue, but I told him I didn't know , and wanted to call him back later. Wondering if this is all an information collection scam or so****ing? It's a shame businesses increase their overhead with third party companies like this.
I received a call just a few minutes ago, I answered but heard nothing. It seems this may be regarding a scam employment agency.
