I hear that if u report or tell them ur going to report them to the BBB then I believe its understood that ull be treated lawfully. I believe they can only call once a day and u should never be asked about work info or any other personal info to them to slander u . therefore a issue one could bring to court.

Keeps telling me to hold because the operator is busy. This is outrageous.

i don't do any business with jc penney whatsoever, but this number has called me repeatedly at the latest hours of the night.  why? the voice message says to visit http://jcpenney.com/credit but i have no credit card with jc penney. i call the customer service number on the website.  the customer service rep says there is no account listed under the phone number.  what the***** is going on?!?!

it is a jcpenny bill collector. they were looking for the girl that had my number before me =/

678-518-2062  This is GE Money Bank, they handle JCPenneys credit acounts.  They call and you get a message when you answer telling you to HOLD!  In other words, they call you and put you on hold, then other times there is no one on the line, and at other times they call me by my last name, then first name, which they cannot ever*****ounce (very common American name!)  They call repeatedly, 10-15 times per day, Sundays, Sa****ays, evenings up until 9:00 PM.  They get smart, rude and obnoxious on the phone.  This has to be illegal practices, even if you owe a bill.  This is harrassment.  We need to find a way to put them out of business!

The caller Id says GE Money, they call 2 times a day every day and I am getting tired of it. When you answer the phone ther eis no one on the other end.

just got off the phone with ronald ... who would not identify the company or reference the nature of his call.  told him the person he is trying to reach does not live here ... he wanted me to release the person's phone number to him.  i told him i don't release personal phone numbers to anyone who can't state their business or business matter.  this is the 2nd time today i dealt with them.  oh, and on one occassion i got a recorded message asking me to hold the line as their operators were busy.

this is a scam. Fraud is thier business.  Look out.  J C Penney has them on alert. They don't represent anybody but themselves. Told this by J C Penney customer service.

don't know about other states, check with your Sec. of State, but in Texas, if your account has been turned over to a 3rd party collector, that is, not the original company(Mastercard, VISA, etc.) and that 3rd party collector has not filed and maintained a required bond, you can basically tell them they are in violation of state law and demand that they remove your debt from all reporting agencies and cease/desist all collection efforts or you will turn them over to the Sec. of State for prosecution.If I get a 3rd party collection letter I simply search Sec of State website to see if they have filed the required bond and in most cases they have not....i then send a certified letter return receipt requested stating the above.

This is a bill collector.  I think they have connections to other bill collector because if you answer, you'll be flooded with calls from "different" collectors back to back.  They will call you the ****mum number of times allowed by law.When you get "dead air", wait a second for a person to answer.  DON'T ARGUE WITH THEM ABOUT THE DEBT YOU MIGHT OWE.  Get their mailing address and write a "Cease and Desist" letter.  (Google it and you'll find a TON of them.)  Make two copies -- one for them and one for your records.  Send their copy by Certified Mail so they have to sign and you get a copy of the signature.  This way, you KNOW they received it.  Once they get that letter, by law, they have to stop calling you.  If they call a***n, you can report them to the FCC and they'll be fined.NOTE:  THIS WORKS WITH ALL BILL COLLECTORS!!  IF THEY CONTINUE CALLING YOU, THEY ARE IN VIOLATION OF THE LAW AND CAN BE FINED AND/OR SHUT DOWN!!!BE ADVISED, THIS DOES NOT MAKE YOUR DEBT GO AWAY -- YOU STILL OWE AND NEED TO PAY THE DEBT.  This will ONLY stop the annoying phone calls.

yep, they call me every 2 hours 8am - 9pm and when I answer, it doesn't go thru, just ****s up!

I've been getting calls from this number for weeks.  You need to wait for that operator and tell them they have the wrong number and would they please take you off their call list.  The calls will stop.  They have to by law.

I'm getting these calls too. I also get calls from a 6785183100. I answered one and it said "Please hold for an operator." I ***g up. It's some sort of telemarketer, I think.
