Knew who I was and my address, asked who my insurance company was.

Said they wanted to do assessment on roof - free of charge - asked for my email and insurance company. I didn't give either. Called back number that called me - got answering machine. Called 800 number - got machine also.

Called to say that they will be performing a roof inspection for free. Gave the 800 364 2064 number if I had any questions. On calling back, I only got a generic voice message

Said he was coming out today at 11am to offer an estimate on a new roof. It’s 11:45 and he hasn’t shown, so I called the number and it isn’t a working number. Luckily I didn’t give him any personal info. He already knew my address.

Claimed to be Louisiana First Roofing (no company exists by that name) wanting to do an inspection.

I work for 1st Colorado Roofing, this is a spammer and NOT 1st Colorado Roofing or anyone related to it. They appear to make appts and not show up. BE CAREFUL giving them your information.

This same 800 number (800.364-9919) also shows up as 1.925.364-9919 with CALIFORNIA being the source of the caller on my caller I.D. If you call the 925 number back a message stating "this number is not in service" will play. Hence, there will be no answer.If either the 800 number or 925 number shows up, simply ignore it. It takes awhile but eventually they WILL stop calling. Just a bit annoying though.If you have the time, there is a ton of information on the net on how to deal with debt collectors, lawyers representing agencies, debts you want to settle and debts you do not want to pay off. Do your homework and get informed before talking with a collector. Actually, don't ever talk to them. If they do catch you on the phone tell them to stop harassing you or you will never pay the debt and to only contact you by mail if they wish to continue any type of negotiation. This gives you the time to think out your response, create a plan of action, delay any kind of payment, and most importantly gives you the upper hand to get more help on dealing with the situation.Cheers!

I was just left a piece of paper on my doorknob stating to call this number.  There is no company name/log on the paper.  The name is listed collection department.  I laugh at the fact it says to have my account number ready.  Which number?  Who is it from?  Sounds like a scam to me.  I was even home when it was dropped off.  If the company wants something from me why wouldn't they knock and talk to me about it?

fh This is/was a mortgage company calling looking for their monthly payments. They call every couple days looking for their payment even thought they got it. The problem with this company is, it takes several weeks for them to post your payment... Anotherwords your payment is late no matter when they get it. (extra late fees)I have been working with them for 14 months to get a "modification" just found out after calling weekly/monthly that the paperwork has to be resubmitted, they couldnt tell me this 10 months ago. When you call them, and let them know the payment is in, they get rude, they give you fake extensions to call with fake names. You never get the same person twice.

This number seems to be a generic number that many bussinesses/collection agancies/Political polsters use for a caller ID to mask who they really are. I got a call from this number and it was a special interest group that patches supporters of through to thier local Senator's office to tell their senator to support immagration reform.      However others from the same number have gotten bill collectors or offers to buy things.

Received call on 2/1/10 at 0920a.m. I answered my phone with hello, I could hear somebody on the other line and I repeated hello 3 more times. I didn't get a response, so I hung up. I looked up the number on reverse number lookup and found this sight. It was helpful. At least now I know the person calling was a debt collector. I don't owe anyone money on an unpaid debt, so I really do not know what their intent was. Thanks for this helpful sight.Julie Roth

Got a text message from JumpOffer.com telling me my $100 gift card was waiting and gave a code to use on the web site.  My phone has text messages blocked, but this got through.  I now have a double-block on my phone!

I got a call from Alberto and Ms. Thompson at 1-800-364-9919.  They claim that they are calling from the law firm Mann Bracken, and they need to speak to me.  What they are REALLY doing is using a scare/extortion tactic (WHICH IS ILLEGAL) to have you call them back.  BY LAW, they should be telling you at the beginning of their message that "this is a collection agency, attempting to collect a debt..."  But they violate the law here.  Sleazy firms like this need to be penalized with hefty fees for violating these consumer protection laws.  Everyone who receives a call from them should call the Federal Trade Commission (who reagultes these collection agencies) and file a complaint. I'm handicapped and living on SSDI. I got a tracfone for the free minutes sence I hardly us a phone (no family/friend closer then 60 miles).  I only get 60 minutes a month and "I" get charged every time these text messages appear on my phone. I can't get "Safelink" to stop the text messages from coming through so I have to pay. Only I pay with the loss of 30 minutes of airtime every time I get a text message. I've gotten repeat calls from this number just today. It calls itself something like Robert Allen investment opportunities. Get Rich Quick Scam AVOID. He's set up so it's difficult to contact for a do not call request. He also may be in Canada. There is a Robert Allen, a Canadian born real estate 'investor' His businesses have declared bankruptcy before and he's been sued more than one.
