the person said that they are a mediator with the collection agency and have been trying to reach me over a period of time to collect this money on loan that they said I let default but I knew that was a lie because I don't have any loans in default I pay all my bills on time so that was definitely a red flag

They call saying a complaint has been filed against you without giving their business name (illegal in some states if a debt collector). Often these are zombie debts hoping u are not aware of the statute of limitations in your state on collecting a debt.

Received all about 2pm. Same number given to every one, with case number 11849897. Called from 314-470-8226, which is a local number for me. Interestingly enough, the person he says the call is for is the name of a guy here in St Louis who somehow gave my cell number out and it is one digit different from his.

Anonymous Sounds exactly like the calls I'm getting. The funny thing, the calls come in around 8 -9 pm. Saying they need to verify my address. They leave no name of whom I need to contact. Most of the calls have been a female, but last night some man called left the message saying it was the last attempt abd for my attorney and me to call back and good luck.

A message was left on my minor child's phone for someone who we've never met, making threats to her when she answered after school when while I was working. They also said the voicemails are automated and they're clearly left by the male "supervisor" I spoke to. 3rd call after they hung up on me they said my name, which had not been given to them, and asked me what I wanted now and to stop. When I called , the phone was answered on the first ring, and a lady named Debbie answered.... never said what company I was calling until I asked. Then gave me an address i had never lived at and said they have been trying to server me.... One the address doesn't exist. Then told me the date of when I took said loan out was in 2015... Once the 7 Year mark hits they can no longer come after you for said debt. once I explained this to her she said well i still owe it... so i gave her the number to my attorney 202-278-2000 ( the FBI) PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THESE SCAMS

the call is a combination of a liver person along with acomputer generated voice threatening to file a claim in your county against you. The purpose of the call is supposedly to verify your address and county... it wasn't even my name they used it was my husband's and he has a totally different phone number.
