Called and left no message.

Got the same call from the "Westside Gym" in Chelsea, MI.  Same spiel as you all listed.  I have a coworker who works out in the area so I thought he might have actually entered me in such a contest.  Unfortunately, I wasn't quick enough to catch on and "confirmed" (now I realize they didn't have it) my first and last name.  The number was listed as Utica, MI and was 586-803-8049.  UPDATE:I just got off the phone with the real Westside Gym in Chelsea, MI (734-475-1900).  They are aware of this and apparently it is a legitimate deal.  It's a marketing company that makes these calls for the gym (at least the one in Chelsea).  The woman at the gym said they will honor the "contest deal" as the marketer stated it (two-year membership for two at only $8/month).  I'm not going to do it, but I thought this might be helpful info.

I also got a call, found it very interesting and confronted the ******* the other line (who did not/would not give a name). Since I did not enter any "contest", live 6 blocks from the gym she claims I won it at, which has been closed (due to the economy) for about a year and I use the gym at the college where I am a student (for free) I KNEW IT WAS A SCAM. Saying I would need to act in 48 hrs and pay the monthly fee of $8 (on my credit card) for BOTH memberships I had own. Even asking if I "WON?" why am I asked to pay for a gift. When I said I would check with the owner of the gym myself by driving over there - she was very quick to say she must have a wrong number and sorry for bothering me today and ***G UP.

I got a call saying that I should come in to claim my free membership that I won.  Call came from a 586 number and I live in the 517 area code.  I told her it must be a mistake because we didn't register to win any membership and we don't live in the 586 area code.  She then proceded to tell me that it was for the Power House gym in Jackson (which is where we live).  Her name was Jaqueline and she asked me to call back to let her know when I can come it to claim the free membership

I called it back...she answered "lifestyle fitness for women" and explained they are a wellness center. I told her that I'm on the national do not call list and to take my name off...she ***g up on me.

The caller did not leave any message.

Got a call on my cell phone from this number out of Utica. A younger (20's) female was on the other end and stated that she had the wrong number and ***g up.

I've gotten several phone calls from this number.  I never answer and they never leave a message.  I have no clue where 586 is.

This # has appeared as a missed call 5 times in the last month.

mztry I answered on my company line and a woman ****** said, "oh I didn't know this was a business," and ***g up on me! RUDE!

They called me and said i have a membership for a gym......... they called to my cell number........Where did they get it?????.................

I just got a call from this number this afternoon.  A ******* the other end stated that I had won two free memberships to Powerhouse Gym.  I asked her how she got my cell number and she told me that someone had filled out a form with my number on it in one of their boxes.  I told her I wasnt interested and ***g up.

When I asked how I had been entered into the 'contest' she said she doesn't really know....that it is computer generated somehow.  Scam.  I told her I had no need for a lifestyles membership.

Is this the Viking Fitness scam? Number is pretty similar. No voicemail left and when I tried calling back (not sure why) the line was busy.

its lifestyles for ladies calling to tell you that you won 2 free p***** for a month.

Called and said I had won so****ing from Lifestyles for Women (?).  It is my business cell phone which very few people know.  I asked how they got the number, and they said someone referred me in a family and friends promotion.  Did I want to come by and pick it up?  I said I wasn't interested.  Mine is a Toledo cell phone and the area code of the caller is Macomb County.

I got a callsaying I won a 2 year membership.  I made in appointment for 1pm today.  When I got there they had no idea what I was talking about.

I got a call this past Friday by an "Amber" clamiming that I have won TWO FREE GYM MEMBERSHIP from PowerHouse.

they called me and said i had a raffle ticket and i won but i just said no i dont have  a raffle ticket and said i g2g bye and they r veryyy annoying!:(

Got the exact same call.  It's a scam.  Just a way to get you into their door.  I'd stay away from powerhouse.

Got a call from a girl claiming I had won a free 2 year membership to powerhouse for 2 people.  Told her I already had a gym membership she ***g up on me.  I called back the number a girl answered the phone "powerhouse gym".  I asked if it was a policy to **** up on prospective clients because they belong to another gym, and where was she calling me from.  She then claimed she was in Farmington Hills, when I reminded her that 586 area code was not Farmington Hills she ***g up on me a***n.  I will report this to the BBB as well file a complaint with the state as this was my cell # and it is registered with the do not call registry.
